  • Thats true. Also they aint the biggest of estate cars.
But I'd have one as I only have two small dogs...
  • ha ha!!!

the only reason I'm interested in the touring as opposed to a saloon model is the dog!!!

    bloody dog runs my life...
  • I had to get rid of my beloved 180bhp Audi A4 saloon cos of the sodding dogs!

Hi Happychappy, thanks for the heads up.....

    BMW 318/320d ES/SE
    2005/06 (new shape)
    Diesel/petrol
    Manual Transmission
    reasonable mileage

So perhaps a guide as to what each model above fetches in recent auctions would give me confidence to buy at auction. Am intending to hit a few auctions Manchester/Brighouse in a fortnights time...best night to go for these cars?

    Thanks, P

This is a long shot I know but here goes..........

I am looking for a Peugeot 207 5 dr with a panoramic roof. A friend has tipped me off that a fleet of 12 went to Manheim auction late last week.

I am guessing that some of these are going to be in tomorrow's Bristol closed auction (by virtue of the number of 207s due in the auction tomorrow)

I am also guessing that when they say "closed" they really do mean closed and only dealers can either bid or do the internet viewing thing?

Is there anyone out there who has access who can check if my guesses are right?

I know it's girly but as it's to share with my daughter my preference would be for a black one,

Can anyone help? as I said I know it's a long shot..

    Many thanks,

    A

I was at an auction where a lot of 207's went with couple with the panoramic roofs, they were going around 3-5k. If you want to know what cars are on tommorow, give them a call and they usually will tell you how many 207's are on for sale and the details etc and what time they will come on for the bid.

Happychappy and Wig.....I intend getting over to a BCA auction in the north of England, never having bought via auction before......got a top ten tips for buying off BCA, pitfalls, things not to do/do?
Yeah ok, I might do this in a new post.
Am looking for 2/3 year old 3 series BMW, plus assume its totally safe to buy rental/lease company cars?
Pretty safe to buy, especially if it has been serviced correctly and there is warranty left.
I see you can pay by debit card....how does this work?
After you win bidding, you approach the side of the rostrum where you will pay a deposit on your card. After waiting about 45 mins - 1 hour your paperwork & keys will be ready to collect from the main foyer payment kiosks where you will pay the balance using your debit card. You can tell your card issuer to expect a large payment in advance.
    Vat qualifying/marginal means what?
VAT Qu. means that the VAT element will be printed on the reciept, and if the vehicle is bought for business use, the reciept can be used to reclaim the VAT in the business' annual accounts. Marginal = dunno
Consequences of no log book....reason why not, from lease company?
You won't have to pay BCA £25 extortionate paperwork fee, which strictly speaking should not be landed onto the buyer anyway, because doing the V5 paperwork and sending to DVLA is the responsibility of the seller/Registered Keeper NOT the buyer. You will not be able to use the vehicle for 6 weeks until you have appled to DVLA for a V5 in your name and recieved one. For this reason cars without V5 should sell for less, and if you are bidding you should not bid so high.
Reasons likely to be a lease co. with poor admin skills or a repossession.
Mileage is warranted by whom, how reliable?
Warranted by BCA I believe. Up to you to show the mileage is incorrect. BCA T&Cs will tell you how long the warranty lasts.
For BMW you can get a read from cars computer out of what needs done service wise, can you ask for this or check in vehicle, how might it work?
You can't check or ask for it to be checked. If you phone up before the sale with registration you might get them to read out the stamps in the servicebook to you. Alternatively if you contact BMW UK or a dealer with registration and tell them you are buying the car they might be able to tell you the service record.

I replied to your post of 2 weeks ago with search results. I tend to delete my replies in this thread when the results have gone out of date. BCA works on a VERY fast turnaround of vehicle stock, the search results are mostly vehicles for sale within the next week, with most of them being within the next 3 days.

If you put up a request and don't return for 10 days, your results (if posted) will not be valid by the time you return.

Hi Wig - thanks for looking for me previously, i did see it but there wasn't anything suiatbale within the area so thought I'd check again, perhaps I'd be better witing a week though until after the plates change and there are mor prt ex' on the market etc?

Here's a big search result for you, I got a new toy that enabled me to get you this information. For estate BMW see the reply to "number 5" above this one.

Wig, thanks for that....do you think more might be added nearer the time as I am aiming for a fortnights time, due to 1st September plate change date?

Hi, new to this forum today but been reading with interest, would anyone know if there is a Audi A4 tdi 115+ on the BHP front, must have climate and must be 2006 onward with under 40K on the clock, not fussed on colour except for white and yellow which is no no. Must have a manual gearbox. I'm in south west wales and my nearest BCA is newport, was down there in feb 08 and got a cracking deal on an x british gas van but the searches' on them are free. Any help please. Quite happy to wait for the influx of cars to hit the auctions once the new reg's hit the forecourts and the dealers start offloading old stock.
    Kind regards in advance
