Can UK veto Turkey?

Following discussions today David Cameron said the UK has a veto on Turkey joining the EU, but the out campaign said it does not - does anyone know which is telling the truth??

Who cares if we can veto Turkey. We all know Dave won't ever use the veto. He wants Turkey in it.
Regarding Greece and Cyprus, Turkey - given the choice of joining the EU with its visa free passports across countries and its free money for any country that is an economic basket case could well decide is a far better deal. Isn't Farmugusta just sitting there crumbling anyway?
