Psychic readings

I have just come back from a family event quite upset. My niece went to a pyschic a few weeks ago and she was telling me about it. She told me a fact about the circumstances surrounding my mothers death 15 years ago that only myself, my husband and her dad (my brother) knew. We did not tell anyone else and yet all these years later my niece knew after being told by a pyschic.
It was to do with what had ultimately caused her death, cancer or a fall whilst in hospital, the investigation resulted in us having to cancel the funeral arrangements and delay the funeral until the results were known.
I am a sceptic but I cannot explain this, and I found myself feeling very tearful about it.
Has anyone else had a similar experience?
She told me that the pyschic had told her the timeline of events and the outcome. There is no way anyone else knew, and my brother has memory issues and he now has no memory of the events so it definitely didn't come from him.

I've been thinking about how to reply to this.
If it's touched you, I don't want you to feel I'm being dismissive...
As for how - Does this help explain the techniques:

It's possible your niece told the psychic your mother's name and that she had cancer.
The psychic could have checked and found your mother's date of death and burial were some time apart - indicating a post mortem. Just a suggestion.
As for why... I think I'm not going to go there. That sounds like a classic case of premature extrapolation.

So, in your scenario - the psychic does a bit of 'fishing' gets some details, then some how is able to disappear for ten-to-twenty minutes while doing some research, and lo and behold she gets the right details come up, and is able to go back to the sitter to continue the reading!
Seriously, pull the other one, even less likely that this particular psychic is a good one, judging by the details given, too unusual to be just a lucky guess.I used to work for Tesco - now retired - speciality Clubcard0 -
I believe they are people , who have psychic abilities. I see it as talent as any other. Long time ago people believed illness can be spread just by looking on someone sick. Didn't know anything about germs, as they couldn't see them. What's really a difference between psychics?0

if you believe the bible they call them 'Angels of Darkness'. Fallen angels of Heaven.

Wonder if people would find this interesting?

She will have overheard her dad mention it or someone at some point in the last 15 years.. probably shortly after it happened and just found the opportunity to drop it in conversation.. I clearly recall hearing things I shouldnt as a child and to this day have stayed quiet about it for fear of upsetting relatives involved.LB moment 10/06 Debt Free date 6/6/14Hope to be debt free until the day I dieMortgage-free Wannabee (05/08/30)6/6/14 £72,454.65 (5.65% int.)08/12/2023 £33602.00 (4.81% int.)0 -
Good so called psychics are expert at reading people and using that to keep narrowing down the information they as giving out. And people who attend are generally predisposed to subconsciously want to make it all fit.
That's my take on it anyway. A little like the experiment that wrote a long but generalised horoscope. When given to people, regardless of actual star sign, they took out the bits that related to them and ignored the rest. All shall be well, and all shall be well, and all manner of things shall be well.
Pedant alert - it's could have, not could of.0 -
So what's about psychic, who know nothing about person, seen them first time? Often psychics don't ask for any details, they say it first. I don't call it scary, I call it talented, is somewhat unusual area, still talented.0

A few people will have the same experiences as this. My grand dad was the same, so was my mums sister.
It's not hard to say 'i can see a death that shook the family, it may have have been unexpected? Possibly cancer, the heart or a fall? At the time there was great sadness in the family, you couldn't bury the person at the time due to complication, well that person is at peace now. You think of them often and they want you to know they'll be ok,'.Forty and fabulous, well that's what my cards say....0 -
There's no such thing as psychic powers, nobody really has them, nobody can really communicate with the dead. Please please don't be upset by something a so called 'psychic' has said. They are terrible people who exploit grief and pain to make a bit of money from it.
I know it can seem uncanny, but its an incredibly old game, there are lots of techniques for convincing the punters to keep parting with cash.0
