AS I said that's your 'truth' not mine - you are welcome to stick to yours, I will stick to mine - and have my life enriched by guidance and love from the great beyond' at no cost.
How many mediums work for free? If it couldn't be monetised I think you'd find far fewer psychics in the world.I am a Mortgage AdviserYou should note that this site doesn't check my status as a Mortgage Adviser, so you need to take my word for it. Quite a lot - all anyone has to do is visit a Spiritualist Church either connected to the National Spiritualist Union, or the Christian Spiritualist Church - the only cost to those attending is via the voluntary collection; whether you 20p, 50p, or a couple of quid, or indeed zilch - up to you.
There may be days/evenings when there's a small charge of maybe one or two pound.
Even I will accept that some are betty than others, while some can be quite outstanding - medium comes from over hundred miles away, and people arrive late who haven't been before.I used to work for Tesco - now retired - speciality Clubcard0 -

Fact: everyone dies.
Fact: nobody knows and will never know what happens (if anything) when we die.
Fact: the bereaved and vulnerable have been exploited by this uncertainty for the duration of human history.
Correct. It is also an absolute fact that every medium/psychic/spiritualist, call them what you like, is a fake. As Derren Brown said, most of them come from a showbiz background and actually learn the techniques of cold reading, Barnum statements and so on. It is an ancient 'art' but it is always a deception. It is exploitation of the worst kind.
I don't think it is reasonable to believe in these people simply because you don't know how it's done. That's like someone saying that they don't know how the magician apparently saws a woman in half or makes a rabbit disappear. Just because you don't know the secret technique, you wouldn't actually accept that it was real and simply happened by magic. We know for certain that both magicians and psychics use trickery and deception so why believe in one and not the other?:dance:We're gonna be alright, dancin' on a Saturday night:dance:0 -
I look forward to reading about the conversation with your Partner, when you declare how illogical the concept of 'love' is and as no one has proved it exists, you don't believe in it anymore, it's just a marketing tool to get money from the gullible!!Yes Your Dukeiness0

My sister has a friend (not that close) who seems sometimes to have a sense for these things. She isn't preying on vulnerable people as she doesn't work as a psychic or make any money from this 'gift'. Some things she picks up on could easily be explained by her just being someone who notices subtleties and changes in behaviour that others don’t.
She may not be deliberately misleading people. but there's still a very good chance she's just 'intuitive' with no psychic ability what-so-ever. If you or she genuinely believe she's real I think you/she have a moral duty to work with scientists to prove it - you single handedly could change the world by proving life after death exists (all she'd need to do is answer questions correctly and perform better than chance) and people can communicate with them. You'd help set a standard so frauds could be identified and stop targeting vulnerable little old ladies - win a prize get all the money and fame in the world.

In the film they discussed a psychic who was publicly exposed as having a stooge and an earpiece. Incredibly, people still carried on believing him despite his credibility being destroyed. The moral of the story, I suppose, is that you cannot reason someone out of a position that they didn't reason themselves into.:dance:We're gonna be alright, dancin' on a Saturday night:dance:0 -
Psychics tell no one anything but total BS.
There is no "Other Side". Heaven and Hell are what we make of life on this planet.
I look forward to the day when the whole human race realises this and finally gives up the delusion that there is a Deity Up There Somewhere.
Standing by for the stoning now...I think this job really needs
a much bigger hammer.

Throughout history, civilisations have had some sort of belief system about life after death.
I think it's to provide reassurance that death is not the 'end'.
Personally, I think after death is rather like before you are born - just nothingness.
What I don't understand is why the messages from 'the other side', given by the mediums and psychic are so mundane, like, 'auntie Doris's false teeth are down the back of the sofa'
I've done a lot of work on my family tree, and it's very frustrating that I've never known my ancestors.
If it was possible to get a message from the other side ( which I don't think it is), I'd want to know things like do you get a chance to meet all your ancestors, rather than the location of false teeth.Early retired - 18th December 2014

So you paid a psychic to come to your house to come and tell you stuff you already know? lol.
If psychics are legitimate then why are they unable to give any useful information?. Paying someone to tell you about stuff you and your family already know is a big waste of money!.
No, if you read the post, i went to her house. There were lots of other things she spoke about, not just the past.0
