Anyone who truly believes they know a psychic please please talk to them about James Randi's challenge in NewShadow's post (#14) he's desperately wanted to test and verify these powers for years and yet no one has managed to prove they perform any better than sheer luck!
So many psychics are happy to tout their skills, for better or worse and at the moment we have no way of knowing if they're an outright liar or conman or whether they truly have, or just believe that they have this ability

The psychic (so called) could have done a google search and found the details of the events you describe.
Did any details surrounding the death be published in a local news paper? If so then they can easily be found on the net.
I lost my mum just over a year ago and I like to think she gives me little signs to say she is still around but in a nicer place. I have often thought of seeing a medium but friends have told me not to and just say leave the dead at peace and we will all see one another again one day. But until that day comes don't bother going to see these pyschics.
And I would never ever think of using a Ouija board please don't yourself.
    Wishing you well xx.

if you believe the bible they call them 'Angels of Darkness'. Fallen angels of Heaven.

Something i'd rather not get into.
That is why using a Ouija board is dangerous.

I have no strong opinions either way on psychics. However, in the days before camera phones, 2 psychics rented a small shop in Exeter in an arcade I used to walk through to collect my kids. One Saturday I was particularly tickled by the notice stuck to the door which read:

Closed due to unforeseen hospital admission

They didn't stay in business much longer....

I expect that, if you'd filmed and watched it back, it might be more obvious how she actually got all that information from you.

They are also helped by the fact that anybody who actually pays money, takes time and goes to a psychic in the first place is much more likely to respond to their techniques and to want to believe them.

There's a reason why 'psychics' aren't turning up at police stations offering their services to help solve murders. A willing and reasonably receptive audience is part of the trick.

You may be right but i gave no information about my brother in law, she mentioned it to me out of the blue. There was no publicity anywhere about his death, she wouldn't have been able to link me to him even if there was, as my husband and his brother had different surnames as they were adopted by different families as small children. She didn't have my surname either.

I'm not even local to the area, she lived 20 miles away from me and my family (the aunt she referred to) lived 50 miles away.

It was a very strange experience, however it was done !

Self confessed cynic here, a friend who was the same went to one years ago and was told about someone in her life that about 4 people knew about (he was married) and she was impressed at the detail, however one of the observations was that he wore red, she took that as cos he was Man U fan, well for me that could have been any sport team, his work uniform, favourite top, glasses, lucky pants...

I'm of the mind it's a bit like song lyrics, they're written with the songwriter's thoughts in mind, but means something different to every person who listens to them

I had a 1 to 1 meeting with a Psychic years ago. Just me and her in a room in her house.

I don't really believe they can see whats happened in the past but what she said really spooked me out at the time. The only time i'd spoken to her previously was to book the appointment and all she knew was my first name.

She knew exactly what my situation was at that time, i'd recently separated but my ex had decided to come back home (briefly, as it turned out !) She also knew that my brother in law had committed suicide 2 years before, she knew how he'd killed himself. She described my Aunt who had just passed away, not easy really as she was quite a unique character, she had a particular way of greeting people which this woman couldn't possibly have known.

I don't know how she did it but it certainly made me a bit more open minded about this type of thing. As long as you don't dwell on what they've said and take it with a pinch of salt, i can't see the harm in it.

So you paid a psychic to come to your house to come and tell you stuff you already know? lol.

If psychics are legitimate then why are they unable to give any useful information?. Paying someone to tell you about stuff you and your family already know is a big waste of money!.

If psychics were genuine then we would all know what awaited us after death - if anything. We would know this as fact and all religions would have the same beliefs. Sadly, no one has ever been in touch 'from the other side' and the vulnerable are preyed on by those not so weak.

Thanks for this, I've been to see a couple of "famous" physics and a couple of local ones and I have to say after the last one this definitely makes sense.

One experience I had of a "famous" one was when she said does anyone know a (John, Robert, William etc) a lady stood up and let the physic tell her things that stuck for around 15 minutes, until the physic tried to tell her how he died, when the lady then said "oh no, he's my husband, he isn't dead, he's at home now" everytime the physic went to a new person, the first thing they asked was "is this person dead?"
Newly Married, not a 2b anymore!! Mum to two wonderful boys!
