Got fined.

Hello!
I got a parking ticket from UKPC. The notice is badly printed and I cannot see the amount.
The reason was that I parked in a disabled position without showing the badge.
Any advice?

    yep

its not a fine , its an invoice

now please read and follow the NEWBIES FAQ sticky thread near the top of this forum, plus complain to the landowner citing the EA2010 too ( assuming you own a BB ?)

I don't know what BB is???
And why would I complain to the landowner? I don't know who is this. It is a shopping centre parking.

that is the best free advice you will get, you wont get better advice even if you paid for it

a BB is a blue badge, so it sounds like you didnt have one seeing as you dont know that fact , yet still parked where you should not

Yes, I never said the fine was not fair. I asked if I can avoid the fine.

A couple of questions that will help us to help you:
Do you have a long term disability that affects your mobility, and/or do you have a blue badge ( disabled persons badge)?
Were the spaces well signed/marked as disabled?
Did you deliberately park in a disabled space? - if you did then you shouldn't, however on one end of the scales you have people who deliberately park in disabled spaces and give scumbag parking compnay the reason to exist, and then on the other hand you have the Parking companies. PPCs vs Disabled space abusers ( those who park in the full knowledge that its a disabled bay they are not entitled to) .
In my opinion the scales tip just ( and only just ) in favour of the motorist as PPCs will go after genuine disabled motorists and anyone else, anything that contributes to the profits of PPC world is far worse.
Instead of paying a PPC, you should seriously consider donating something ( or even better a little bit of your time) to a local group, such as a community transport group.

It's comprehensive because this isn't a simple issue. If you want someone to wave a magic wand for you, you need to contact Paul Daniels. But that will be more difficult now than reading and understanding the newbies sticky. :)
Please note, we are not a legal advice forum. I personally don't get involved in critiquing court case Defences/Witness Statements, so unable to help on that front. Please don't ask. .

I provide only my personal opinion, it is not a legal opinion, it is simply a personal one. I am not a lawyer.

You need to make a flowchart guys, there is no need to read a whole booklet of information, we need an overview of the options and the actions we need to take.

No, I don't have blue badge, I just parked there for like 10 minutes and that disgraceful parking cop gave me an invoice. Those companies are a plague!

he isnt a parking cop, he is simply a civil warden going about doing "his job"

I said its not a fine because it isnt, its an invoice, you were not fined and you should not be in those bays either, hence the PCN the enforcement officer issued or that UKPC issued, those spaces are provided by law for disabled people, hence why you got a ticket

there is no easy answer and no easy way to make a flowchart as there are too many variables, its been tried and failed on many occasions, although you could look at the old flowcharts if you really wanted to, but they will be out of date due to the complexities of this topic

yes they are a plague, which is why we give people advice

your advice is to read, understand and follow that sticky thread near the top of this forum, its free advice, read it , use it (nobody here will do it for you but we will advise you even though your act was disrespectful to the disabled community)

so not a fine , not a cop , and in theory a valid PCN due to your actions, but could be won on vaqrious legal points if UKPC have failed those points

and a GAL compiled that sticky thread , not a guy , lol :)
