So they don't deduct the statement amount from an annual estimate. As to the dials style meter I would not want another one. I just want a straightforward digital style meter.
Statement amount gets deducted from account balance, giving meter readings regularly makes annual estimated usage more accurate, I give readings daily as is convenient to do so, some give readings weekly, others any time during a month.

Thank you, That sounds ideal. I like to provide a reading at the end of each month and it's good to know they don't automatically prepare a statement if I'm a few days late. They would only do that if I missed readings for three months.bristolleedsfan said:Mabel2012 said:Statement amount gets deducted from account balance, giving meter readings regularly makes annual estimated usage more accurate

Equally if someone was going away or just felt like submitting a reading on say 24th would get a statement based on meter reading, nothing more frustrating for those with say Bulb and several other suppliers submit a reading after getting a reminder and get told because was submitted more than 3 days before statement is due get an estimated reading or feel as have to submit a reading on an exact date to avoid estimated statement.

I agree. It looks like it will be Octopus for me. Thanks for clarifying this.

Good for them - I'm pleased I've stayed with Octopus and not switched. I'm sure they don't want customers who do not support anti-racism.SnowTiger said:Octopus Energy has gone completely woke.

This is not the place for this. Note Octopus's blog post (have you read it) and switch from them/don't switch to them if you don't like it.Gerry1 said:nadsat said:I'm sure they don't want customers who do not support anti-racism.Yup, you're absolutely right, all Octopus customers want to Defund the Police.

"and switch from them/don't switch to them if you don't like it. "I don't and have done exactly that. Switch out arranged for next month!0

Honestky best electric company I've ever dealt with. On Agile tariff, own an EV, and I'm paying £50 a month less than I was before moving to them including CAR usage which was previously £120 in diesel min a mo. (ie, I'v moved, saved a fortune, and even owning an EV and using massive amounts of electricity to charge (using a device called an OHME which they sold me cheap for £199 instead of £400 retail) is costing me near nothing (1p a mile driven). Can highly reccoment the paid for app (99p ) Octopus Watchdog on IoS -> it has made me both montiro hourly prices as well as see my bills over last 30 days... and my average rate is under 9p a unit, and it's apaprently expensive now!
Anyhow, if you are on a Big 6 supplier look at moving, best company to deal with fullstop from my experience at least. Previously I was being ripped off by SSE as I hadn't done the MSE of changing supplier for several years -> becuase at times comparison sites said I'd only save £100/yr, so didn't seem worth it. Fact is, saving £500-600 a year IS worth it.1
