The Octopus app offers a lot more data than the website. You can scroll back to previous days/weeks/months/years rather than just seeing the last period. You can also access older data on the website, and you can download the data to do your own further analysis. The app is great, but the website is more flexible, but a little idiosyncratic in the way it splits weeks and does lack the simplicity of scrolling whole periods at a time.

Is there a (simple) way to download the daily gas prices for the past 30 / 31 days as used as a basis for my Tracker invoices? I thought there would be a link on the website for this but so far unsuccessful.Telegraph Sam

You could use the Download Data link at https://mysmartenergy.uk/
It is getting the data from the API and converting it to csv.

Tks, I had stumbled on the My Smart Energy / North East site previously and concluded thst it did indeed contain some interesting data. But this did not seem to include the past 30 days' daily gas prices that I believe Tracker uses. By its nature this would seem to be the kind of data that they should feature. A further site visit and a further attempt is called for ...

I have found the table with the month to date daily gas prices. I was hoping there would be a downloadable (csv) file with the past rolling 30 days' gas prices which I believe is what Octopus uses to calculate the average price that they charge me. Is this somewhere else?Telegraph Sam

I've been with Octopus for several weeks now, haven't got my referral bonus yet but the first DD payment hasn't gone out.
Now my smart meters have finally started communicating with them, I am a bit disappointed that my usage in £ doesn't include the standing charges (app).
I'm planning on changing to Variable DD once the first payment is made, I would rather have a proper idea of my spend on a more frequent basis than bill time.
Otherwise I'm very glad to be rid of British Gas, and have found their customer service good via Twitter.0 -

Is this somewhere else?I also think that you are looking the wrong way through the telescope. Octopus usually raises a daily charge for billing and, when the bill is raised, it calculates an average unit price for the billing period. My bills mstch the data in this App.
The App Octo-Aid provides similar cost information and there is an export function.0 -

I got my answer (it's great, and I switched) but bashing over 17k numbers into shape was a bit of a chore.Impossible to do in the app though.I should have said, the app offers a lot more data at a glance. If I just want to check how much I used in May 2021 or May 2022, I can do so.Both have their advantages.3.6 kW PV in the Midlands - 9x Sharp 400W black panels - 6x facing SE and 3x facing SW, Solaredge Optimisers and Inverter. 400W Derril Water (one day).
