There's something odd going on at Octopus this afternoon.
It looks like they've cancelled my Tracker gas bills from end-Nov to mid-Feb, have credited the previously-billed amounts to my account, and then re-billed for that same period at an extra cost to me of (it seems) about £25.

No signs of anything widespread going on, mine are untouched and no comments on their forum.
I've had it happen once before when they missed billing for a day a few months earlier then picked it up and re-billed correctly.
It is annoying when it happens, but the cancellation of bills, refunding payments then re-billing is necessary to ensure they comply with the back-billing rules in the future, even if the current correction is within 12 months.

My pdf bill has turned up. It's 41 pages (almost four months of Tracker gas data, plus a month of Go) but here's the summary.
The reversed charges are the seven Tracker gas bills for the period covered in the first two lines of charges, ie. 30th Nov - 19th Feb. What was originally billed at £293.05 has been rebilled at £316.49, an increase of £23.44.
Now, that nearly (but not *quite*) matches the unexpected and inexplicable "Energy Price Guarantee" credit that I received in my December bill.
Other people on this forum also received a credit around that time, and there was some bafflement over why Octopus were doing this. (If I can find the relevant post(s) I'll add a link.) It looks as though they've gone back and corrected it.

    Edit to add:
And possibly @Spoonie_Turtle although theirs was electricity not gas:

So I might not be the only one being re-billed for that period!

I sympathise whilst keeping my head down. Thought: Might the presence or absence of a smart meter have anything to do with it? [the more advanced the tec the more likely a glitch] It looks like you are like me non-smart for gas. My electricity is Go Faster smart but I don't think I have experienced anything similar with either.

If you check your December bill(s) you should be able to see if you've received an inexplicable EPG credit.

Could it be due to which version of Tracker people are on? I’m on V2 so an older Tariff than QrizB

Not to be confused with the government support payments.

For what it's worth I am on Tracker V 1  for gas and to date nothing untoward to report.

Sorry for (very slightly) moving away from the current discussion but this is ‘tracker related’.

Ours is a large house and we are high users. Been with Octopus for years. Dual Fuel. Currently on ‘Flexible Octopus November 2022 v1’

Just read that Octopus has………. “reintroduced its ‘Tracker’ tariff, allowing consumers to closely monitor and adjust their energy consumption in response to wholesale prices.”

Never been on a tracker before but wonder if it may be good for us now. Asking you more experienced users what would be considerations before moving?

I know there may be many but any initial tips would help to marshal my thoughts.

    Many thanks.

Might be better to post this in the dedicated Tracker thread, here:
