I suspect that the data I need is downloadable from the My Smart Energy.site. But I googled Octopus Watch also. It does seem to contain a bunch of additional advanced goodies
Q: As an "app" can I install it / would it work on my desktop PC? Anything remotely complex is too much for this old Android to handle. it is unstable.I have always been unclear if apps generally are restricted to mobiles.

I fear that there's a bit of parallel correspondence going on with this thread (!). Guilty as charged.

What I think I want to do is download the daily gas prices from middle of month 1 to middle of month 2 so that I can calculate a simple daily average in Excel for the latest billing period. In the belief that is how gas tracker (latest version) works. For this exercise the fewer extra bells & whistles the better.

I asked in a post yesterday which seems to have vanished: Can I install the app on a desktop PC or will it work only on a mobile? My mobile's capabilities are very limited.

I can still see your post asking this question. It's available on mobile only. You'd be better off using the link I posted a couple of times earlier in the thread, which allows you to download the dataset in CSV format, from which you can clip out the dates you want.

The final page at the bottom of the bill shows the daily prices and consumption. The average price only appears in the bill summary.

It's not native, but you could run it in Windows using an Android emulator like Bluestacks, or possibly Windows Subsystem for Android on Windows 11.

Or just upgrade your mobile to a Pixel 6a for around £300 (or less) minus whatever trade-in Google offer you. I got a brand new 6a from Google for £149.99 after trading in a Pixel 4a.

    Tks 4 the tips.
To Raxiel - that requires expertise way beyond my pay grade
To Umiamz: What % commission do you charge for an 8 - 10 year old Samsung upgrade 😀?

There's something odd going on at Octopus this afternoon.
It looks like they've cancelled my Tracker gas bills from end-Nov to mid-Feb, have credited the previously-billed amounts to my account, and then re-billed for that same period at an extra cost to me of (it seems) about £25.
Sadly the billing page still contains the old bills for that period, not the new ones, so I can't see the details of what's changed. (Yes I have already downloaded copies of the old bills.)
I'm guessing it's related to their implementation of the EPG, but until they publish the revised bills I'm only guessing!

Just checked my Gas Tracker and no bills cancelled so far for me. I don’t have a smart meter for gas. Thanks for the warning I’ll keep an eye on it
