I would say no, because Octopus will reduce your DD in those months the rebate is applied, so if you reduce the normal monthly payment too you'll come up short.

The £400 info is on their website https://octopus.energy/blog/energy-crisis-support/#400energybillspayment .... have you seen this Alley_E?
This is also on their Balance Forecast Page:
 "Good to know: The current plan for the Government's energy rebate will automatically reduce your payments by £66 or £67 a month between October and March.

We don't recommend reducing your payments now to account for it, as your lower payments may automatically be reduced again later in the year, leaving you short of where you planned to be."
