Reported this to octopus twice and promised updates which never came.
I've decided to leave it now, I will just take manual readings as I did previously. I would not trust their logged readings anyway judging by how they messed up the installation i.e. not finishing the commissioning of the gas meter and condemning our boiler incorrectly.Seems like this is a common problem at the moment. Had my smart meters installed for about 3 weeks now. It took 2 weeks for electric to appear on my IHD but gas has never appeared.I contacted Octopus and was told they were unable to access my smart meters at all and would start the process of looking into it. They also recommended giving manual readings for now.I'll give them a month to sort it before I kick of the complaints process

I'm waiting to hear what will happen with the fixes now the EPG gas been announced, so in the meantime I wanted to check what octopus balance forecast has to say. It suggested that my DD of £320 wasn't enough and should be raised to £430 (this came after the announcement of EPG). It predicts I'd be paying £265 in September and £711 in December. Based on my last year's usage I would pay £135 on my fix in September and £450 in December. They have a 1 year worth of usage now and I'm really surprised at how inaccurate the usage is being predicted. Based on my yearly usage and EPG (if I switched to cap) I should be paying £171 a month (I have £1,050 in credit at the moment), not £430.
Can't wait to see what actually happens with the fixes at this point.0 -
Excellent company. I had a smart meter that was dum for years yet every energy provider I used would not do a thing. Octopus just changed the meters with no fuss.0

Very happy so far - they are very communicative, prompt, precise and offer good tariffs. No hesitation to recommend.0

Transferred over to them 2 days after requesting the switch, and now after being with them for 5 days I have the Octopus Go Faster electricity tariff up and running ( I already had a Smets2 smart meter) - happy I made the decision to move 👍1

Anyone know how t-o-u tariffs will get any benefit from the new £2,500-ish energy cap.
