I asked Octopus for the appointments URL and they sent me a URL to be added to a waiting list for SMETS2. It said that I would get an email when it's my turn and would be able to arrange an appointment myself.
Is this the same URL that people have been mentioning? In my case it's a dead SMETS1 meter that needs replacing. I assume they'll probably replace everything with SMETS2 now, anyway.0 -

The whole process is totally misleading.I waited a few months with absolutely no response from them before I finally lost patience and followed it up with customer services. I was immediately offered a number of installation dates. SMETS2 meters were installed within days.

Hi,
Just a quick update.
Octopus can't supply me with a link so I can check for availability of meter appointments.
I'm told that's due to mine being a meter exchange from Smet1 to smet 2 meters.
So just got the same no appointments available.
I suppose going into winter Octopus won't be able to know my exact gas usage which should be an advantage.0 -

I was currently paying 250 pounds per month dd.
Earlier today I asked them to change to variable direct debit and now upon logging on my account it reads
You are paying a variable amount depending on your usage and£250.00
on the 15th of each month
Have they made a mistake and they are about to charge me twice?0 -
I applied to Octopus for smart meters {via the link on my account} this morning and they are coming to fit them next Tuesday morning. The problem must be in cetain parts of the country.1

I called them and they changed it to variable, i think someone left the 250 quid by mistake when I emailed them.
I don't find that sending them an email helps much.
I have also requested a refund of all the credit they had in my account, rather the money sit in my current account and then pay what I consume.0 -
Each month around 29th to 30th email from Octopus suggesting read meter.....this month nothing.
Are they hoping folk will forget or what. Or simply like me have got the message.0
