I've heard it said on many occasions that if all else fails use Twitter for getting a reply from OP. I registered for Twitter some time back but have never got the hang of using it. ("Direct messaging".?) Is there a simple idiot proof guide that someone could link me up with - via PM if you prefer - that takes one from a knowledge base of zero and assumes nothing but ends up with a communications channel that works rather than a garbage collector for irrelevant tweets (excuse my French)?Telegraph Sam
There are also unknown unknowns - the one's we don't know we don't know0 -
Incidentally, OP is usually used as an abbreviation for Original Poster, i.e. the poster who originally asked a question or made a statement in a sequence of posts. I’ve never seen it used as an abbreviation for Octopus.0

Hi,
I have been with octopus for nearly 2 years now. I have found them to be excellent with any queries I've had.
The problem I have at the moment is that my old BG smet 1 gas meter display is no longer working.I can not take a meter reading.
I reported this to Octopus in the middle of July and chased it up a few times as well.
The last agent confirmed that they can not pull any data from the meter. And he said exactly the same as the other agents that they have no available slots for the meter exchange and to check back in a months time.
Apparently the will do a average bill to work out my Gas usage once I get a new meter fitted.
I'm not sure what I can do to get the meter exchanged ?
Any advice welcome?
