When I was told that they had no available dates I asked to be told when they were available. They then sent me a link to keep checking for dates becoming available. A couple of weeks later I saw dates available and booked it.

I will contact them and ask for the link.0 -
As of 16:00 Monday 29th August the Agile and Tracker electricity cap has been raised to 78p/kWh and the Tracker gas cap to 22p/kWh.
If you applied to switch before this time you’ll be quoted at the previous cap.1 -
Re jessmist 29 Aug "The last agent confirmed that they can not pull any data from the meter. And he said exactly the same as the other agents that they have no available slots for the meter exchange and to check back in a months time"
I would also be interested to know what delays people are experiencing with the installation of smart (gas) meters measured from the time that Octopus took over the accountTelegraph Sam
There are also unknown unknowns - the one's we don't know we don't know0 -

I'd been waiting for a slot since January and finally had them installed two weeks ago

Hi,
I was currently paying 250 pounds per month dd.
Earlier today I asked them to change to variable direct debit and now upon logging on my account it reads
You are paying a variable amount depending on your usage and£250.00on the 15th of each month
Have they made a mistake and they are about to charge me twice?0 -

If you're awaiting a smart meter I'd suggest contacting them weekly to chase. In certain more rural parts of the country the appointment availability are not as plentiful but they do come about regularly. Don't assume octopus will contact you, they won't. If you ring at the wrong time then they'll just say "no appointments" but every week slots become available.
The alternative is to get the website link for appointments and to keep checking it.
I managed to get an appointment after a month for my parents who live in the southwest, this got delayed by another month as the fitters rang on the day saying they weren't coming as they had "emergencies" but you get £20 compo for a missed appointment so not all bad!1 -

What will be interesting to see is what will happen to tracker customers if the government do introduce some sort of cap or help for the astronomically rising current system which is unfit for use from ofgem.
Would we then see a mass exodus of tracker customers? I guess it depends if the government introduce a unit cost reduction or if they hand out grants etc to the poorer parts of the population.
