Anyone know how t-o-u tariffs will get any benefit from the new £2,500-ish energy cap.
I don't think anyone does, but Agile is currently capped at 35p but with a lower standing charge than the new cap,
Currently available Agile version capped at 78p kWh with SC same as other currently available tariffs.
Version before that had cap of 55p kWh

Oops, it looks like the Octopus Compare app I'm using needs an update! It's still showing 35p across the board for tomorrow, for example. Energystatsuk seems to have the real pricing. Looks like the two increases came into effect mid-July and end of August. I guess like other tariffs, those signing up prior to the price rises have their cap fixed for a year.

I'll be very surprised if the TOU tariffs get changed....would welcome any reductions if they did but i personally doubt they'll be touched.

From what we've seen so far of the new E7 rates from BG and EDF, Go/Go Faster/Intelligent will all fall below the Multi-rate tariff cap so no change needed.
Agile and the Tracker tariffs are going to be a problem, they don't qualify for Government support as they are not fixed tariffs, so any reduction in the cap for the most recent versions is going to come out of Octopus's pocket.
Those on the 35p Agile/Electricity Tracker don't need a change, same for the 6p Gas tracker, for the others going to have to wait and see, but given there are no exit fees it is easy to move back to the SVT if necessary.

Nope, their twitter just says they're ironing out the details.

Will Octopus apply the £66 and £67 discount to the account balance? I'm trying to calculate my new DD and not sure if I should subtract the £400 from the yearly cost or not. Some energy suppliers said they'd refund it to the bank account, so not sure what Octopus will be doing.

They credit £66/£67 to energy account, automatically reduce DDs so people feel immediate benefit, customers can increase DD if they wish.

They should automatically reduce the DD during the eligible months.
