I thought that Tracker v2 has (had?) a capped gas unit rate of 6p/kWh?

Ah, OK. When I moved my gas back from EDF earlier this year they said it was only possible because I already had my electricity with them.

They started doing gas only switches about year or so ago, manually not via links, likely not all C.S staff are/were aware.

I've just switched gas to Octopus with Variable DD because EDF were a nightmare, wonky billing and almost impossible to contact.  That said, the switch completed on 20 May, the final bill was lightning fast and the refund cheque has already been banked.

Yes, finally can't be bothered dealing with EDF anymore, I HAVE to move for my sanity lol.
  • Is the customer service good at Octopus? My main wish.... sorry, have no time to read 242 pages here....

Looks like I'd have to call them to switch. They have referral bonus but says that's only of you apply to join on the website, which I can't do. Can I get the referral bonus over the phone?

So far Octopus and the app seem very good indeed, but obviously it's early days.  You'll have to phone to switch, but they will accept a referral code over the phone.

Yes, very good. They were very understanding in applying the referral bonus for my elderly mother when she joined them by phone as she was struggling with the online sign up.

Tracker unit rates seem to be on the rise?
    Still slightly below SVT, though...

Yes, agreed. I'm only using 5-6kWh/day of gas at present (and could use less if I had to) so it's not an immediate concern here! It does need keeping an eye on. I also need them to get my smart meter communicating again ...
