Nicholas81 said:So far, disappointed with the 'winter workout'. Octopus originally set my 'estimate' for the 12 weeks from (I think) 8 December at 5874 kWh. They have now revised it to 5702 kWh. That could well be justified because December was unusually mild, but it would be nice to know how they are doing the recalculation. They say it is based 'on the weather and other factors'. Nationally, month by month? Or regionally, day by day? And what 'other factors'?
They also tell me that 'so far' I have used 1319 kWh compared with a 1342 kWh estimate. They don't tell me up to what date. And these figures bear no relation that I can see to the meter readings I gave them on 17 and 30 December. The 30 December readings triggered a (correct) balance update for electricity, but no balance update for gas, and (so far) no bill.
The purple ring supposedly showing how I'm doing seems to me not thought through. I could get to a complete ring on (say) 26 January, but then slip back in February if I have visitors who like long hot showers. And I could get to more than a complete ring: how is that going to be displayed? A spiral?Someone please tell me what money is0 -

Have many of you cleared the Avro amount.
Have any of you had an Octopus bill
Lastly do they generate bill after they request meter reading....if so it didn't happen for me.
Given Octopus three readings (ends of Oct, Nov, Dec) but no bill as of yet although the money has been taken from my credit balance.Someone please tell me what money is0 -
Anyone still on Agile tariff will be PAID up to 10p for every kw they use tonight for over 6 hours.

I had issues with Octopus. Initially signed up, and the system wanted the meter number. Fine. Went to put it in and my online account said it was already in. But Octopus kept emailing saying i needed to add it. In the end, they needed to pretty much cancel the first account and make a new one.
Also, i have no idea on how they work out your monthly payment when you first sign up. I feel its almost a con to get you hooked in. Mines so far off, (like almost 3 times more, thats for another post as i need help with that).0 -

Calculated on consumption figures that get given by customer when they sign up, after about 42 days on supply Octopus get historical property meter readings which they sometimes use to make recommendations to monthly payment changes to try and avoid accounts going into debt.

Vegastare said:Sorry to start New Year worrying about bill....but since moving to Octopus via Avro I have never actually had a Octopus generated bill. Had the Avro bill for the couple weeks in September which is £24 but I have not paid it as my credit is more. Plus the way it read it was up to you whether you did or not.
So my questions are
Have many of you cleared the Avro amount.
Have any of you had an Octopus bill

Since Octopus gave me my a/c number I've been submitting regular meter readings monthly on or around the 29th even though I couldn't actually see them anywhere in my account. In fact I could see very little in my account at all (presumably because my a/c wasn't fully set up?).
I sent my latest MR on 26 Dec and when I next checked my account on 1 Jan I could see a section called 'my current balance'.which listed in date order: my credit balance from Avro, charges raised for gas & electric on 30 Sep showing kwh & the total charged (but no other details), my ongoing DDs, and charges raised on 25 Dec for Gas & Electric (again no other info but kwh).
I CAN now see my meter reading history which is all the readings I have submitted plus estimated readings for 1 Oct which I assume were used to calculate the charges raised on 30 Sept. Does anyone know why the charges generated are the day before the meter readings were given??
There is no actual bill or statement to be found anywhere!! Nothing showing "my charges in detail" as suggested in the downloadable sample energy statement. Whilst I can check that consumption charges are correct based on the meter readings given (although the gas conversion from units to kwh is not easy) I cannot see the dates used for my standing charges. Surely that can't be allowed to happen??

Underneath that is what I have always regarded as a purposely small/tiny edit tab/button for people to put actual usage in0 -

MWT said:bristolleedsfan said:Certainly a happy new year for Octopus Go customers whose tariffs are renewing at existing peak rate which from these two different examples just over 13pkwh, many of whom also have apparent wisdom to be on cheapest gas tariff for the winter monthsThey have also said on numerous occasions, repeating it again today that it is a loss making tariff0
