"The Go Faster products are all composites of two tariffs, one for the peak hours and one for the off-peak hours, both are titled with the time slot and the duration. The only problem in the tariff display is that I think they are culling duplicates from the display that are not actually duplicates but in the end it doesn't really matter as you can never pick one of the Go Faster tariff pairs from that screen, but only from the invite which makes it all clear."There is a danger of us going round in circles and I do not wish to appear dogmatic. I and I suppose others used All our Tariffs to come to a decision on the selection of tariff appropriate to one's circs. This then in my case duly triggered an approach to the Innovative team following which they sent a list of time slot options which were clear enough. However no mention of the peak rate.
If in my case there is something fundamentally "wrong" with the A-o-T's display which encourages interested parties to avoid the early hours timeslots, then you would think that someone in IT would have made the corrections by now. Otherwise what is the point of the A-o-T's summary??? If in fact the data displayed is "wrong", it should only take some minor tweaks to put it right in a way that corresponds to the other time slots. And removes any doubts.
Agreed - at the end of the day the pragmatic approach is to use and respond to just what is shown on the invite sheet, ignore the oddities, and leave the semantics to another day.
PS "You are still confusing the descriptive title of the tariff with the operational time slot of the tariff." I think one can be excused for assuming that if the tariff is entitled "3 H from 0130" then the rate displayed should correspond to what is charged for consumption in that operational time slot.Telegraph Sam

I have zero idea why anyone is now with these. The dishing out of £50 or sometimes £100 credits for referrals took its toll and they went from being cheap to another company that is much of much. The fact a robotic voice comes on telly about the only Which supplier for 5th years running, says it all. Octopus (and Bulb) started off well but too expensive now.0

Possibly because tariffs such as Go and Go Faster offer a way to reduce cost of energy. They also have a first-class smart meter team and an excellent billing platform that has been sold to other energy companies across the World. Octopus is also a nice supplier to deal with.0

Very happy with the service I've had from Octopus, and even with the effort they've put in in trying to resolve my smart meter issues and escalating it to engineers. I've been on the tracker tariff right now which is 18.68p/kWh (18.96p standing charge) for electricity.1

I’m still getting used to the Go Faster 1/2 hourly info that I’m now getting on my online account. My cheap period is from 20:30pm through to 1:30am the following day.My question is how do they charge the cheap rate period? Is it one continuous time period or is it in fact 2 separate time periods, midnight to 1:30 am and then 20:30pm to midnight?0
