Hi!
Hurray it's Friday! :j :j
DD1 and DH are having their sax lesson in the front room
OMG I read that quickly and thought it said sex lesson!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! LOL
September grocery budget........trying for £80, not sure if I will make it though!!!!! I certainly did not last month, lost track of the final bill. Will do better this month honest.
Tesco £57.13
Petrol £10.000 -
Afternoon all
Hugs to all the poorly ones today.
Not had chance to have a good read through the thread in days. DH goes back to work on Monday and we've been enjoying the last few days of his hols.
The house is a pit - I've done nothing for a week apart from the odd load of washing and chucking the dishwasher going each night, was going to save it all up until Monday and have a day of cleaning but in-laws have just asked if they can visit for the weekend  .
Going to go make a start in the kitchen whilst cooking DD's dinner and the rest will have to wait until tomorrow morning (they won't be here til lunch time)
Shopping budget went out the window this morning - will have to take a serious look at the cupboards next week and meal plan for the rest of the month.
Priced up a couple of bits I want to get DD's for xmas today and bought a couple more pressies whilst I had the cash on me - nearly all done on that score now - just need something for my 8 year old nephew who's got limited speech and no imagination - my sister wasn't much help and said he's not really into anything.......great!! Might just have to be sweets as at least I know he'd get some pleasure from them.
Hope you all have a great evening - I'm off to prise DD1 away from her homework - she's loving secondary school (even if she did miss the bus tonight!)"Start every day off with a smile and get it over with" - W. C. Field.0 -
Well done Gale 10! Bet you can get a little more off that next week?

Afternoon all,
Pleasant day here, took in 3 loads of washing and sorted it in such a way as to have 2 items needing ironing...have decided that as a pensioner it is ok to go for a more dishevelled look than formerly!
Irish stew which I made yesterday for dinner to-day, skimmed grease off to-day and was surprised to find very little fat so should be nice. Cooking seperate veg too as just put lots of onions in yesterday.
Pen Pin, glad that you are feeling better but don't overdo it.
Redruby....complain...the stupid **t*h may be brilliant (?) but needs to realise that she is a doctor and not a vet and that she is dealing with people who would understand if she told them what she was going to do....your authorisation would be needed anyway so she should have her knuckles sharply rapped.
Taplady, sorry to hear about your aunt.
Skint Catt...welcome ...be warned we are mostly mad...but it helps!
JackieO..heaven help the oncology dept...have they been formally warned about you and your antics with young men??
Kyle...glad that you have been to see dr, hope he/she was helpful
This is it....I reckon one day with nothing to eat from breakfast will do DD no lasting harm...although I have forgotten how old she is, but a teenager won't starve and refusal to argue the toss on your behalf should settle things very soon...you have explained so just keep offering the packed lunch.
Csarina...sorry about your problems with sleep...mine are that I sleep until 10.30 and then stay on here until maybe 2 am...have to sort that before it becomes a habit, like to be up and at it early.
Crazychik...hugs
Hugs to Anniestar, SnowyOwl, Smokybabe, Queenie, Grannybroon and all whom I have left out...purely an accident, memory gone...suffering from C.R.A.F.T.

Hi everyone
Just really managed to come on line tonight and have had the most cursory look at everyone. Kyle - just going to look up your condition as I have never heard of it. How naughty of Aussie to suggest pregnancy!!!!!!
Redruby - your treatment at the hospital totally unacceptable. Your dignity should be respected and you should be treated with respect.
Everyone else, sorry not mentioning you by name but I am thinking of you all and welcome to new posters - this is the place to be.
As you know I was really very down last night. I am shattered today but looking forward (?????????) to babysitting all three boys tomorrow. Deep Sea World with DGS1 and DGS2 tomorrow afternoon. Just looked out my bottles to take over so DGS3 has a supply if needed.
No word about Mum today but hope to hear from my sister soon. I didn't blow my top at the team meeting this morning but did manage to make some very pertinent comments which have been minuted and I hope will be acted on. We are starting a weekly mini meeting on a Monday morning at 8.30 - I have pointed out that Monday coming is not good for me as I have a course to set up for visiting tutor arriving 9.00 am - I have to make sure all IT stuff working, set up room, make sure catering there etc etc. One of my main gripes is that I am not kept in the loop!! Well we shall see.
Really appreciate your support.
Love

Well, I have Googled Slapped Cheek which is totally new to me. Is this going around the school? Could it be that your DS with diabetes has had a mild form of it which has caused his imbalance. It might be that he has not had the full thing but maybe he is fighting the symptoms. I am not a medic so this is just conjecture.
Looks like you are just going to have to go with the flow over the next few days. Please take care.
Love to your Mum too.

Redruby - i worship my marina - after a year my periods pretty much dissapeared, no wieght gain either except ...... I have bosoms - yay! So much so that when I met my sister in June at Cayman Airport she yelled out " Look! She's got t*ts! Where d'you get those from! Look everyone my sister's got t*ts" much to the amusement of everyone but me

JackieO - when exmil lost her hair she got a lovely wig from somewhere and liked it so much that when her hair grew back she would take the wig with her and get the stylist to cut it the same. Oh her new hair was gorgeous though - much softer, curlier and a nicer colour than it had been. (also JackieO, do remember that we're all here for you on the days when you don't feel like being an inspiration and just want to cry or whinge or rant)
Result - picked up dd from after school and her friends were playing in the park and the mum asked if dd can stay for tea and be dropped off at 8pm. Will celebrate by having both reduced trout fillets for my tea
Must clean the house tonight as it's a busy weekend - thankfully there is no Big Brother to distract me. Tomorrow we are going to twickenham to buy dd's birthday bike and then getting the train to chiswick where my eldest dd lives. If the weather holds we are having a picnic by the river and then dd and I will cycle back as far as we can along the thames.
saw 2yo dgs yesterday for the first time in a week and he said his first proper sentence. He leaned over the table to me and said "Nana, you're not funny!" :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:
I have been stressing about christmas plans for a while now - my dbro and family are coming from nz to holland for a month to visit my dad and we want to go and see them but things got complicated trying to fit in with other siblings. also my w*rk are being funny about leave as I had some time off last year to do Crisis at Christmas and now everyone else wants christmas off this year. Well I have talked it over with dd and we have decided that we will see what leave I get, book some flights or a ferry and just go regardless of what my siblings or other dds want to do. Such a weight off my mind not having to take other people into consideration - I should do it more often.
Have a great evening
stefI'm going to feed our children non-organic food and with the money saved take them to the zoo - half man half biscuit 20080 -

Slapped Cheek
Well, just phoned DD about arrangements for tomorrow and the babysitting. Thanks to Kyle as I had never heard of this. Doctor thinks DGS2 and DGS3 may have it! Hope you and your boys OK.
I might have my hands full tomorrow but that is why I am there for them.
Caught an ad tonight for Asda - Jumbo packs of Pampers nappies seem to be on offer.
