(((hugs))) to loads of you - seem like you need it.

Well I managed to stay off the computer for most of yesterday so think of all those Watts saved! Painted the white emulsion upstairs, realised it needs doing again - sigh. Gives me backache because of the angle of everything which then means I have to lie down to stretch the back out. Did that for a while with Finlay-kitten but he kept trying to suckle my neck, fingers, t-shirt, NOSE!

Got quite frustrated trying to work out how to alter furniture placement in the room. It's an attic room with sloping ceilings at either end, and a double chimney breast along one wall. There are only 2 ways the bed can go if we aren't going to block the windows and neither are perfect. We also have 2 chests of drawers and basically one is going to block something and look very out of sorts. Oh well.

Went for a good long walk with a friend and her nutty labrador last night. 1.5 hrs of field walking and the dog carried a huge stick twice his length for most of the way. Feel fine today so might try and replicate that later. So far thats all I've done to contribute to my inch-loss campaign. :o Must get started on some stretching exercises or callanetics. See my enthusiasm :)

Realised I have less than 6 weeks before I go on hol. Eeek.

    Have a good one.

And splash out on a really funky wig, in a completely differnt style than your own hair - it will help keep your spirits up, get the best one you can afford, not a cheapie one.

Anyone else think about those purple Bob-hairstyle wigs the Moon station girls used to wear on the tv program UFO! :):rotfl:
  • I had one of those for a fancy dress ball. Made me decide a bob didn't suit me!
  • We've got a black cat in our backyard and our 2 are just watching it and sitting with it, no hissing or anything! It checked out some old fencing we've got and now is just sat on its brisket watching ours.

day off today and am going to be packing ready for my working holiday in Weymouth!:j have managed to get DS1(17) up and actually in the shower! :D he's off to Worcester to pick up some outstanding cash owed for a cash in hand job then off to do his radio show later at youthcomm radio, DS2 is at school and DH at work so me and the dogs have got the house to ourselves!:j :D

Had some sad news this morning, my Auntie has died from terminal breast cancer after having battled it for years, was in hospital for chemo when she suddenly died. We weren't close as I have a huge family but my heart goes out to her children and husband because after losing my Dad suddenly I know how devastating it is.

Mrs Mcawber - well done on the weight loss!:T

PenPin - glad you're feeling better!

JackieO - I hope the treatment goes ok, I like odds-n-sods idea for a wig - you can have whatever hairstyle you've always wanted!:D

    Morning all,

Hope every one is well, hugs to all that need them, Jackieo what a woman you are good luck with the cemo x

Well I went to the hospital on wed to find out why my periods are so heavy, i had the most awful woman DR, who did not explain anything to me, and left me legs akimbo and nothing on waiting for an internal while she went to check something, she left the door and curtain open and all those that went past in the corridor had full view of my 'lady garden' , after she had done the internal she said to the medical student who was sitting in "do you want a go" as if i was a fair groung ride !!!! After the internal she said to me "do you want to be awake or asleep while we do the procedure" I said I dont know because you have not told me what you will be doing, so she then shouted at me DO YOU WANT TO BE AWAKE OR ASLEEP ? This went on for about 10 mins untill i walked out went up to recepction and demanded to see the top consultant, who was lovely and explained everything to me, they are going to insert a camera into my womb, and see if there are any fibroids or anything, if there are he will remove them there and then, and fit a merina ius at the same time, which will hopefully stop the heavy periods, if not he said i may have to think about a hysterectomy (sp) but i think i am too young for this yet (38) Any way I am going to write a letter of complaint about the DR, I felt uncomfortable and sort of violated, iykwim, when i got home, and had to have a hot bath and several glasses of wine to recover :p
I felt sooo much more comfortable with the male DR, and thats saying someting isn't it ?

Any way sorry for rambling on, any advice on the merina would be appreciated.
Also making fish pie for tea, but have run out of flour for white sauce, is there anything else I can use.

    Hugs again to all

PS dd has just started in yr 8 and is coming home each night shattered, apparantly its much harder than yr7, she asked to go to bed at 9 last night :p

  • Morning all! :)

(((hugs))) to JackieO, hope the treatment goes well

MrsMcawber - well done on your weigh-in! Good luck to anyone else weighing in today

Glad your feeling better today PP

Hope everyone else is ok today :)

DD at school, DP in bed because he finished his paperwork yesterday and has nothing to do until he goes to London next Tues to start the next project.

I'm taking my mam to Asda in a bit to do her shopping, did mine earlier in the week but going to have a nosy round the reduced section for some meat for my freezer cook-up this weekend. As it gets to winter i really rely on my freezer to have meals ready to heat up because the cold weather makes my hands stiffen up and ache and so i can't peel or chop things. So making a start now! Did loads of chilli con carne yesterday, had some for tea and the rest is boxed and labelled and in freezer now :)

B - cereal and juice and banana for DD, DP in bed, tea for me
D - DD @ school, DP can fend for himself, me and mam going to my grans for dinner
T - sweet and sour king prawns and noodles for me and DP, noodles and stir-fried chicken, broccoli and carrots for DD (she can't have prawns)

    Take care all

redruby That sounded awful. I would definatley write a letter of complaint. N9eav instant coffee pales in comparison. :D
JackieO Hope the treatment isn't too taxing on you.
Taplady Sorry to hear about your aunty.
Kyle It isn't morning sickness is it? :D
Essex-girl Yes, did hear about the McCann case. I wonder what's going on.

Well DGS has tonsilitis. XDIL took him to the dr's this arv as she noticed he had bad breath. Should feel much better once the antiobiotics kick in. DH hogging the telly so think I'll have a nosy on here and read. Byeeeeeeee
Don't worry about the world coming to an end today. It's already tomorrow in Australia. ;)

:hello: Hi all, can I join? Me and boyf have just found a house to move in to together on 29th Sept and I want to be as Old Style as possible! We tend to cook from scratch anyway as we're both doing Slimming World diets and both love to cook. Hoping I can do the flylady cleaning thingy too. I will be moving in with a LOT of stuff and hope to clear it all out by Xmas, keeping only the basics.

    C xx
