    How do you address a formal letter? To me it sounds wrong without a title.

    The only people who address me as Ms Rosemary7391 haven't bothered to ask and think it's a 'safe' option. Yet they've somehow established I'm female!

    I was referring to being addressed in person not in a letter.

    Just curious - in what circumstances are women asked for their title?

    I can't recollect the last time anyone asked me.

    I get annoyed at being addressed as Mrs

    I always reply that Mrs is his mother and my name is Suki :)

    I always introduce myself by my first name only.


    The only thing more annoying to me being called Mrs ( in the name game of life that is) is being called M'am by certain call centre staff at least 10 times a minute

    So when I filled in my passport renewal form and it gave me the choice of:
    Mr
    Mrs
    Ms
    Miss
    Master
    Other
    it's something that some people get annoyed about? smiley-confused005.gif

    I really don't give it a second thought.

    I've been asked twice today. Making an appointment for an eye test and to view a house. :)

    Isn't the whole title thing superfluous? I mean were in the 21st Century here.

    Name. Gender. That's it really.

    A previous poster stated they didn't like being called by their first name by people they don't know. I know what they mean.
    "An arrogant and self-righteous Guardian reading tvv@t".

    !!!!!! is all that about?
