You need a buyer to sell a house though?

There is a separate thread for buying. Which you know as I'm sure you've trolled and posted your absolute rubbish there as well.

You should be sticking to the debate section rather than writing foolish and inaccurate comments hi jacking every other thread. People don't want to read your very immature nonsense.

    Go away!

Anyway back on track. I'm still trying to sell but things in my area are now starting to sell with several houses being sold in the last couple of weeks. My EA says there are fewer buyers, but those that are out there are serious buyers.
  • That is promising. I have heard that before at this time of year.

    May I join you please?

Our house has been on the market for over a month and we had one single viewer only in the first week. Feedback was that the price seemed right but they did not like 'the way the downstairs flowed'. Nothing unusual about is so not sure what they meant.

No more viewings following that and after a couple of weeks we dropped the price but still no viewers although we had had four different agents suggest the same asking price and it seems comparable with other properties in the immediate area.

Have told agents we want to terminate our contract and planning to go with different agent.

Not sure if there is something wrong with the price or our house in particular or whether the market has just slowed down completely.
Wish there was a way of finding out if other properties in the area are having viewings (don't trust agents to tell the truth).

Also wondering if the continuous rail strikes by Southern Rail (we are near train station in Surrey which is affected) are having an impact?

    So disheartening.

Congratulations to others on this thread who are now under offer.

That's such an awkward situation - and one you have absolutely no control over! I used to commute up to London on the Brighton Mainline, and with all this ridiculousness with Southern Rail going on I definitely wouldn't want to put myself in the hands of the rail companies to get to work again!

Hopefully someone who doesn't rely on the train will fall in love with your place soon.

(If you're feeling very brave you can start a thread with your Rightmove link and ask people what they think is the reason you haven't had many viewers...but you've got to have the skin of a rhino to do it, people don't sugar coat their opinions! :()
    Mortgage - £[STRIKE]68,000 may 2014[/STRIKE] 45,680.
  • Still totally dead in my area, 6 weeks on the market now and no viewers despite lowering the price by £5K below valuation.

A 4 bed version of this house went under offer round the corner from me this week so it's still possible but not looking promising for us.

There are currently more houses for sale in our estate now than have gone up for sale in the last 4 years combined.

i live in west midlands house has been on the market since start of June 2016. First EA were rubbish did nothing, never called me etc. I signed a contract for 18 weeks but ended doing a complaint letter which went to MD of EA and I was immediately released from
contract. 2nd estate agent lot better, best to stick to a local estate agent in the area you live, this EA calls me once a week, still no viewings there were 2 booked but people changed their minds. Its stressfull selling houses and don't sign a contract with any EA most EAs dont have that think as a general rule if after 6 weeks nothing happens you can change to another. Also guys i watch house doctor so declutter its offputting to viewers I know myself. Ive had numerous trips to the tip been doing it since early this year and house is a lot tidier now. hope this has been helpful and may we all sell our properties

Thanks you Elfbert, not feeling brave enough ;-)

Also, this is actually my partner's house (I've already sold my flat and we are joining our finances to buy together).

Been doing a lot of de-cluttering here too and I'm glued to re-runs of Phil Spencer's secret agent programs.

Heading towards the start of week 2 for our listing now. Nothing since the viewing in the first couple of days and no contact from the EA with any details on the response to our advert. Thinking of dropping them a line tomorrow to see if they can tell me how much interest there has been through the Internet - hopefully the can track downloads etc. I would also have hoped for at least a little contact just to keep us updated, even if it was just to say they hadn't had any bites this week...
