  • Thanks all :-)
Sorry for the poor English in my last post, multitasking whilst playing jenga with a 6 year old :rotfl:

We were on the market just over 3 weeks but its hard to overestimate just how much emotion and stress you can experience in this house selling business, I feel for anyone in this long term and I really hope you get your offers soon. I had really given up on the last viewer yesterday, but it turns out not everyone is like me who would be bouncing to get the offer in as soon as agents open.

Christina, that sounds positive, if you can get everything set up with the new EA and ready to go over the next 2 weeks then at least it won't seem so long - I could think of a few things I would have changed if we got our photos retaken so its a good time to rejig anything you think might need it!

Fingers crossed you get the offer you want/need newtothis :)

I am excited now to see my house and my future house go SSTC on rightmove (easily pleased? :p )
  • We intended to buy a new build last year. I was going to use a large slice of the inheritence I received from my late father but guilt on spending the money got the better of me and we bought something cheaper in a nearby town.

Trouble is we have never stopped wanting the newbuild. I priced a few jobs such as new doors and facings, skirtings etc and was quoted a ridiculous amount which made us regret not going with the new house.

Now I feel more settled on spending the money so decided to put the house on the market and hopefully go for the newbuild. 1 week on the market now and not even a viewer, so demoralising!

At least we know that pretty much everything in the area is sticking due to the local economy bombing but it is so frustrating.
  • Well after losing out on the last place due to o/h losing their job. I'm now playing the waiting game again!

Part of me think's it a blessing in disguise, the first place is back on the market for the third time. Something not quite right there.
  • Thanks all :-)

Thank you Chickenmama. I did wonder about asking for people on here to take a look at my house via rightmove and then ask for their feedback, but I am little scared about posting the link on here :(
  • Congrats chickenmamma :) Brilliant news!

I posted my house on here a long time ago and had some honest (ahem) critique. However, even though our house has been renovated, our house is next to a working mens club and I did create a whole new thread on it.
    It's a little more "protected" in here :) x
  • Yay chickenmama! Well done!

I think we're a little bit nicer on here than people would be on a seperate thread... However I've not done as I wondered then if it would show up if any potential buyers searched for the rightmove link (which I tried when buying!) Wouldn't really want potential buyers to read this thread!
First win (October) - Apple Ipod off a radio competition
November - new nokia mobile phone, £250 electrical voucher (both radio comptitions)
March - 2 cinema tickets to see 27 dresses (radio again!)

  • I've been on a Netmums thread before where a lady posted a link to her house on Rightmove and some people were just damn rude. It was a 2 bedroom terrace and someone told her to take the double bed out of her and husband's room and put a single in as there was NO WAY a double was meant to be in there!!! I'm sure the poor woman must of gone and cried after reading some of these comments because I could of cried for her.
  • It can be helpful but not when people say things like "I wouldn't have put that wall there".

Seems like a fair enough comment to me. Sometimes you have lived with something for so long that you forget how ridiculous it is. I get sick of seeing EA ads saying "three double rooms" meaning that you could just squeeze a double bed in but you would have trouble getting dressed in the remaining floor space. For me, being able to fit a double bed in doesn't make it a double room. It has to be practical.
  • Thing is though Kilby where would of her husband slept? Her baby had the 2nd bedroom?!?
