Has he really offered on two at once or is that flannel?
He has let you know he has the cash anyway!

Well that was my first question to my other half as he took the call. Can't help but think it's a tactic to make us accept the lower amount if we think there's a chance he'll go elsewhere. As you point out though he's inadvertently let slip he's got more he could offer!
  • Well....we have had an offer.

    Cannot. Quite. Believe. It.

Slightly low but we have asked to meet a little in the middle...they will let EA know in the morning whether they will increase.

Doh! What a silly thing to say to the EA. I have everything crossed for you. x

the link you've posted ^^ I'm fairly certain that is the same house type we are buying brand new from TW if we manage to sell our existing house, how weird lol!

That is strange. It's a beautiful house and we were considering part X when they were first being built...we decided to put our house on the market instead and it's taken a while. This one is at the bottom of the site and looks over the welsh valleys with no interruption of views and no chance of being built around.

    Good Luck xx

So the saga continues following our offer! The offerer is refusing to increase 'because we have enough equity so why should he' is the attitude he's taking so we've hit a stale mate. Now I'm not being funny but our financial situation should have no bearing on the offer he makes & with that approach I don't much feel like wiggling any further on the price we countered with - didn't realise just how cut throat selling houses gets!

How on earth would the offerer (nice word ;)) have any idea on your financial situation? I think that is such a rude assumption to make. How much extra are you looking for? If you will regret accepting this lower offer, then hold steady. It may be a sign of things to come and he could be a right pain during the whole selling process.
    :(
  • Take a look at my sexy little signature.

Huge thank you to everyone on here that has offered support...it has been tough and I'm still holding off celebrating until we have exchanged contracts.

Broker has been contacted and we have arranged 4 viewings this weekend.

    YES!

Good Luck to everyone and sending positive "selling vibes" to each and every one of you. xxx
