Well the EA came back to me. The offer remains at £2k under asking price, the buyers think it is a very fair price, cash buyers, willing to wait until we find somewhere. So we have accepted!! Would have ideally liked another £1k but I think the offer is more than fair - it's easy to get greedy!

It's like eBay on steroids!!! :D

So now to find somewhere ourselves. Can't believe how quickly it has all happened, I only posted the signed details back to the EA a week ago. What are the next steps? Will they do searches etc while we try to find somewhere or wait until we have?

Well done. I think £2k under asking is a great result.
I should imagine they will wait until you've found somewhere before they start paying out money for searches, surveys, etc.

    Best get searching...! :)

Thank you! Why is it when you're not properly looking there's loads you want to buy, then when the time comes nothing looks as nice as the house you're selling?! Or is that just me?! :D

Why are you selling copperjar? Maybe more houses will be up for sale in September but will your buyers wait that long or will you rent til you find your ideal home?

We need more space and the time is right for us but I am feeling a bit sad to leave here I must admit. My first home, bought 15 years ago, it will be strange never to come back. The buyers have said they are happy to give us 2 months to find somewhere, I've said (to myself!) if we haven't in that time we'll rent. Just very slow at the moment, I really didn't expect mine to go so quick!

Just got back from quite a long holiday and things seem to be moving in the right direction for most people....! Good to see viewings and offers continuing, our buyers are coming for another viewing and want to exchange at the end of the month, so hopefully will all go OK...

We had a for sale board up the same day as we signed the agreement and it changed to a 'sold' one within 24 hours as well... I was quite surprised at that!
First win (October) - Apple Ipod off a radio competition
November - new nokia mobile phone, £250 electrical voucher (both radio comptitions)
March - 2 cinema tickets to see 27 dresses (radio again!)

  • Will catch up properly later this evening.

We have had a viewing everyday since last Thursday (apart from Sunday.) Such hard work with 2 young boys. We have a couple interested and looking to come back for a 2nd viewing soon. The questions they have asked makes me think they are incredibly interested....but I know how quickly things can change, so we shall see.

No viewing today...so we are having a lazy day and I'm letting the kiddies trash the house :p x

Congrats Copperjar! Fantastic result. Hope you find somewhere soon.
