Think there will be a lot of hiding stuff in the cars going on stuff like washing will definitely be going in there.
Hoping that I can get rid of any doggy smells too, I can't smell it myself but my step mum said yesterday that my living room smells like dog. Which was nice of her.
For the viewings over the winter I bought plug in's. I put them in on the day of the viewing, to fresh the place up, then unplugged before the viewings. Seems odd, but it just helped to make me feel the place smelt fresh. Now I open windows and the patio door. Have you tried the anti pet smell plug in? Maybe bicarb sprinkled on carpets, rugs and fabric furniture, leave for around 30 mins then vacuum up. That used to help when we had a dog. We have rugs and laminate floor, so I also use essential oils when I steam the floor, just a little on the pad the goes on the steamer.0 -

I know what you mean, I think I'm going over the top. In fact when I'm viewing houses I'm looking at the size of the rooms and the main things like kitchen and bathroom not how tidy it is, still can't help worrying about people judging me though.. eeek0 -

Thanks that's good advice, I can't have rugs because my dog is a chewed. In fact I can't have cushions or anything because of the dog! He has even chewed a hole in my sofa (I'm going to have to hide that) I have laminate flooring though.
Is it best not to leave the plug ins on when people are viewing? I never thought of that, they can be a bit over powering.0 -

Do you live in my house :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:
I too have a hole in the sofa, due to the dog. It's so bad I'm even going to be embarrassed when it gets collected to go to the dump! I've tried umpteen plug-in fragrances but they all give me a headache.0 -
I have 3 kids & 2 cats & a messy husband. Keeping everything clean & tidy is a nightmare. I've found keeping on top of it all is the easiest way. I've had at least 24 hours notice apart from last Tuesday when I had 3 hours notice. I threw the kids wellies from the porch into the boot of the car, along with 2 bags of dirty laundry, basket of ironing & cats bowls & littter tray 😊
I'm very conscious of the house smelling nice as I've viewed some houses that have been not so pleasant shall we say. One had a dog & was beautiful but it smelt so bad me & mum in law just had to get out quickly. I put a drop or 2 of zoflora clean linen on my steamer pad & put some diluted fabric conditioner on a cloth & wipe the radiators down after airing the place thoroughly before viewings0 -
Pumpkin - The one good thing about having a dog like that is you end up with an unintentional minimalist house. (Or just everything stuffed on high shelves)
I was thinking the same about the sofa, it's a shame I won't even be able to give it away now. I'm not even sure it's worth replacing it till the dog grows out of his chewing phase.0 -

I am very paranoid about it too, I actually bought some zoflora yesterday and I will be going mad with it.
Will also be filling up my car with junk and sending my husband off to work with his car full too.
I'm really hoping it sells quickly because I'm not sure how long I will be able to cope like this.0 -
My one desire for the new house is two receptions, one which will be entirely a dog (and kid?) free zone! Going to get some zoflora now, my Nan always used that!
All sorted for the photos to be taken on Saturday, but not until 5pm, plenty of time to stash half our belongings in the shed and the car. Bit disappointed we couldn't get an appointment before that but realistically I'm at work til 6 every day and no hope of time off in term-time (work in a school) to sort such things, and the EA had a point when they said better not to take the photo's too late into the evening when the light is fading.
For now I'm up to my elbows in oven cleaner - why oh why do I never keep on top of these things!0 -
Ahh the dreaded oven, I did a deep clean on mine last week. It took hours! I asked myself that same question while I was elbow deep in grease. Once it was clean I didn't want to use it :rotfl:
They are coming to value mine on Thursday, I'm hoping that it won't be too long for them to come out and do the pictures, how long has it been in between valuation and pictures for you?0 -
