I can see it being a factor if you drive a large vehicle e.g. flatbed truck or van for work. If it's a pain to maneuvre around narrow streets it could be a serious pain in the backside having to do it every day.0 -
Accepted an offer six weeks ago, three weeks in buyer dropped out as due to not being able to release savings from foreign country. A week later estate agents rang to ask if they could pick up where left off as buyer was going back with release form. Then last weekend pulled out again as was told again couldn't get funds. So six weeks wasted there.
In meantime I've had an offer accepted on a house (6 weeks ago) paid for searches , survey etc . The house is empty now. The seller isn't pushing me to much but worried how long that will last. Now thinking of renting my property out (mortgage paid) to pay for some of mortgage on the new house.
Stressed isn't the word0 -
Well we are officially up for sale!!
House went on Rightmove ETC yesterday and today the sign went up outside our house!!
I hope we get some interest soon!DFW Total £21,800 to clear by Dec 2022

Well, after being sold for a week and a half our buyer has had to pull out. They where porting their mortgage, but due to something in their credit history mortgage company is refusing and they have a huge redemption fee if they change lender. So back on the market again. So frustrating.
Hoping that the market has picked up a bit. Houses in our town seem to be selling. But so hard to know.0 -
Hi everyone, have started reading this thread from the beginning, but it's going to take me a few days to catch up on it and see where everyone is with this house selling nightmare.
My other half and I have been saving and looking for our next family home for the last two years, and are finally in a position to move, so our house was put on the market last week. We have had 7 viewings so far, 2 of which have given feedback to the EA that they are interested, but no offers as of yet.
Just before Christmas my mum passed away very suddenly and unexpectedly, which is still devastating, and really hard to come to terms with. She owned her house, so that has now been put on the market in the last couple of days. There have been a few viewings already, and one couple are going back again next week for a second look.
So here we are trying to sell 2 houses that are 65 miles apart at the same time. We did think about waiting and selling one first, then when all that is dealt with, moving on to selling the other house, but decided against it because we have no idea how long either will take to sell, and we might as well get all the stress over in one go!!
I imagine I'm going to be here for a while, with one disaster / stress or another.SPC # 1150 -
Smallholdingsister - that is just plain ridiculous for someone to say that the roads are too small.
Mr Da - your buyer sounds like a complete nightmare, and especially since you've already invested time and money into finding your new house.
Good luck Happytails, hope your house sells quickly.
Loopyloops, sorry to hear about your buyer pulling out. Have you got any more viewings yet?SPC # 1150 -
Cinders, so sorry for your loss. I lost my Mum almost 17 years ago. It was fairly sudden. Hope you are coping ok and finding time for you. Selling 2 houses at once is impressive, I am struggling with the one! Hope you get sold soon on both and it all goes smoothly for you.
Thanks for asking, but no viewings yet. They only pulled out this morning. Trying to find out if the EA can bump us back to the top of Rightmove. Feel the need to 'do' something.0 -
Thank you LoopyLoops, I find that I have some good days, but still lots of really bad days where it hits me all over again that she's really gone, and I'll never see her again. I'm hoping for a bit more closure when the house has been sold. At the same time, I don't really want the house to go!
Hope your EA can pull his finger out and get you lots of viewings soon.SPC # 1150 -
Hi Cinders. Welcome and also sorry for your loss.
It sounds like you have a job on your hands - but doable.0 -
Hi smallholdingsister, thank you for the welcome. I think we will probably need a holiday when this is all over!SPC # 1150
