Starting to feel as if I've scared everyone away, it's gone eerily quiet since I popped over here!

I've just had another viewing - set up with an hours notice. Fortunately the house was fairly tidy, so just a few bits of touching up to do. Also, the EA phoned with another viewing for Saturday morning - will hopefully not be too hungover and scare the viewers away!

Had an email from the EA for mum's house, and there's a viewing on Saturday there too. Fingers crossed.

Hi cinders , yes it's been a nightmare as house I'm buying is now empty, and the flat I'm selling is at rock bottom price, and everyone else who has come to view are investors and are offering even below that. I think I have now decided to keep it and rent it out myself. Hopefully it all works out as planned and I can be in new my new property by the end of the month.
I feel for you as I lost my mum the summer before last unexpectedly to, so wish she was still here and sure if she still here this would all have been a whole lot less stressful, as we would have somehow have found the funny side of all this. Good luck.

So sorry for your loss cinders xxx

Well it's been online since Monday and no viewings yet - hoping it'll pick up soon, tomorrow I'm going to clean everything and smarten the front up a bit. I'm re-sealing the bath too which will look a lot nicer x

Mr da, thank you. Sounds like a great plan to rent your house out, it will probably be a lot less stressful. Fingers crossed that you do move into your new home by the end of the month.

Happytails, thank you. I guess lots of people sit down and property browse over the weekend when they've got more free time, so maybe you'll start getting your viewings from next week?

Renting the house out a lot less stressful?? You must be joking!
I'd expect things to go quiet for some time on the viewings front as brexit triggering is now just around the corner.

Why would viewings dry up? It's not like everybody has to buy a house this month and then sit on their hands for two years.

I think now would be a better time to buy before the mortgage interest rates potentially rise after Brexit.

HSBC is doing mortgage stress tests at 11% and Santander's is around 6% even though rates are so much lower at the moment.

Hope everyone with viewings at the weekend go well!

We have not had anything since being back on the market, but to be fair it was only Wednesday. Frustrating that we can't go back to the top of Rightmove, unless we drop the price again, which we might do anyway. You can only go back to the top with no changes to the listing if you where under offer for 14 weeks apparently. I asked the EA. He said it was to stop EA's keep moving houses back to the top willy nilly, which does make sense and seems fair, but is frustrating for us.

Hubby and I will talk about price over the weekend. Our house is a bit out of the norm for the town as it is open plan in a town that that is not typical, so not to everyone's taste.

Anyway good luck to everyone that does have viewings! Hope you sell your houses! :j

I agree Jox, I can't see that it is currently a bad time to buy - no more volatile than any other market!

LoopyLoops, I have my fingers firmly crossed that you get loads of great viewings :)

Happy selling vibes to everyone x
