Sat 30th April/Sun 1/Mon 2 May What Small DFW things will you do this weekend?

When we start out on the DFW trail we do loads of "big stuff" that makes quite a difference to our situation. These include having our lightbulb moment, cutting up the credit cards and cancelling Sky and the gym.
But once we have done the bigger stuff, we often feel that we are not making the same amount of progress, when in fact the small steps are helping us form good financial habits and helping us get closer everyday to staying in control and becoming debt free, or staying debt free.
Examples could be hanging washing out instead of using the tumble dryer or leaving your purse/wallet at home to avoid the risk of spending.
So be proud of those small steps, they really are important! :money:

Thanks for the start cat hope you're feeling better today. I've just cleaned the kitchen and loaded the dishwasher to set us off for the day. Just having a cuppa before the madness commences.
List for today:
Get some washing outside when it's done on 30
Check banking, FPL, surveys
Pay subs at dancing (from one of my new pots)
Make an apple an mincemeat cake with a couple of manly apples and half a jar of mincemeat I found in the back of the fridge
Clean bathroom
Take some beers from stores round to a friends house tonight for their birthday
List a couple of things on selling pages
Meals from stores, naan bread pizzas for lunch I think, may make waffles for breakfast, use up last if the plums, freezer dive for tea
Look for one half of my summer shoes that seems to have wondered off. Really don't want to buy another pair.
Send some stuff back for returns.
Have a good day folks.0 -
Good morning all
I decided to have a night off from the internet and crochet last night. I got in from work and did the usual running about with clubs but as I was starting to feel better from my cold then I decided to get a decent sleep and I'm feeling almost normal this morning. I still am a bit snotty but definitely getting better thankfully.
Tough evening last night - kids clubs, Sainsbury's delivering the wrong shopping order and me being generally moody (surely not :rotfl:) but today is a new day. I feel better, the sun is out and that's a good enough start for me.
Here are my plans for the day:
:coffee: Finalise the April budget (massively overspent this month due to my moods)
:coffee: Check banking and PAD - my pay arrived by 8am yesterday
:coffee: Get dh to put some money into my account
:coffee: Go and collect my shopping from Mr T - Sainsbury's are definitely in my bad books today
:coffee: Get the boys off to ds football
:coffee: Get ds to gymnastics later
:coffee: Tweak May budget
:coffee: Finish my Shaun the Sheep crochet
:coffee: A bit of school work
:coffee: Try and avoid argument and confrontation with dh
:coffee: Enjoy the sunshine - maybe go for a bit of a walk. Clear my head and give me some thinking time
:coffee: Little bit of housework
Have a good day everyone :TNot giving up

Morning guys
yay to the weekend! Although with not working it's a continual weekend for me! But we have the weekend treat of spending it with oh :T Glorious day here in the south east :j
Thanks for kicking off the thread cat & glad to hear you're on the mend
PF thanks your post reminded me I needed to cancel a magazine subscription so I went and did it then and there
dgd woke me up at a respectable 7, but it still felt torturous! Spent a bit of time dithering (loving the introduction of this word yesterday ziggy thank you!
) then went out in the garden and did a bit of clearing - it is in an awful mess
- sorted out dgd's play area and sowed some lettuce, have put some beetroot seeds in water to soak and will plant them later on. Still want to sow some more seeds and wash out some pots.
Am spending the day (when around watching the sun in various places in the garden to work out where to put runner beans
(so loving the garden!)
As well as garden related activities I will today:
* do a load of washing & hang on line
* all meals from stores
* taking dgd to soft play - will eat lunch just before we go and take drink/fruit for snacks
* working tonight 6-10 an extra shift so earning £40
* checked work email for tonight to see if there is anything I need to know
Think that's all I need to do - just need to not spend any money!
Bob can you give me the web address of the blog you have mentioned?
Ok think I'm going to go back to the garden for a while

Morning all,
Thanks for the start CCL.
Well, all go here, nothing lambing at 5, nothing calving. So pups out for a run, chickens staying in, for obvious reasons! Pups do love a chicken.
Then came in and thought rather than ruining my whole bank holiday putting it off I have done the farm accounts, and done the VAT.
So I am now cancelling my lovely day out with DD, I was only going for a coffee in her Uni town where she is going to work for the day.
Thinking of a holiday also cancelled. May as well face reality. Ho hum.
Could be worse, we have neighbours who have had snow and it has missed us. Or be a dairy farmer producing way below the cost of production. So pity party over.
Glad this is done by 9.30 on the first day. I am going to take a milky coffee back to bed and count my blessings and make a list of things to do like muck out chucks, clean windows and do it all to loud Abba medley. like being at a cleaning disco.
Have fun all.

Hi everyone
Sooooooooo excited about it being the bank holiday weekend!!
I need to get loads done around the house today - really need to clean it!! No cleaner for this little lady
We're going to I kea tonight (figure it will be quieter than this afternoon...) - going to look into new kitchens (not buying...yet!) and finishing off the insides of our wardrobes - so far we just have a rail but want to put in drawers/shelves etc so the clothes aren't all over the floor...). We've planned it all online so we know how much it will be etc.
Need to put the heating on because it is baltic here, but will be mindful of turning it off if it gets warm when I'm running around cleaning up etc.
Still need to sort YNAB! May is coming and so far there is no budget in place
Will be popping back throughout the day I'm sure...
Catch up soon

Spendy day today as I need to do a food shop (from food pot) then we're going for some pub grub for a friend's birthday. I'm going to drive so I'm not tempted to drink!
Hopefully will balance a spendy day with a NSD tomorrow. Housework/ ironing/ clothes washing to do!
I also need to do some reading for the qualification I'm doing. The library books have been sat on the side unread for a while
Banking to check/ spending diary to update/ FPL and surveys to do
