Beware getting a quote from their website, Iresa don't show vat inclusive prices on unit charges and daily standing charge. I think the total showing on the top does include vat, but I didn't work it out exactly. Of course MSE energy club do show vat inclusive prices.

Also you can't change the Economy 7 Day/Night ratio on their online quoting system, theirs is fixed (assumes) 40% night units if you get a quote.

I called them today, caller queue was 119 people waiting then on second attempt much later still over 100, I waited hoping it would decrease quickly but had to abandon both after long waits.
    Dreadful.
Oh well they were relatively cheap so musn't grumble...yet, let's wait and see how well and quickly they respond to my message.

It is the case that a lot of suppliers choose not to include VAT when listing standing charges and unit prices on their websites. The total cost, however, is always VAT inclusive. I suspect that this down to the way their accounting systems have been set up.

  • The switch process was smooth on the way in......but

:mad::mad:*** they don't answer the phone - you'll be lucky to be in the first 100 in the queue (1 hour+ )!
:mad::mad:*** they don't respond to email, not yet anyway - since November I think it was that I first questioned them
:mad::mad:*** because they wanted to put up my DD substantially, although I was well in credit and still am even at the end of the winter

I moving on now so hoping it is as easy to switch out

Read this thread and you'll will quickly realise the difficulties you might run into. With the recent news about Ofgem investigating Iresa, I imagine that even more people will abandon the sinking ship before it is too late.
  • Having been with them 1 year I am now leaving. I upload readings every month but the electric doesn't register so I end up with estimated bills. My account is 200 pounds in credit.

Takes ages to sort anything and the website is poor.

. My account is 200 pounds in credit.

As I am sure you know, any credit/debit balance shown on an account is meaningless unless it relates to actual charges billed up to the date on which the meter readings were taken.

You said that the readings were ESTIMATED. If that is the case, then the credit balance is wrong.

They are estimated unless I ring them and give them the readings because they will not register online.

What message do you receive when you attempt to submit the meter readings online?

It accepts my readings weird thing is one of them always registers on the site. But then they estimate it and it's as if they are not submitted.
