New energy company has appeared in my area offering good rates.

Iresa Limited.

Cannot find posts about them on the fourm.

http://www.iresa.co.uk/

The company is based in Nottingham.

Website is up and running and looks quite advanced and functional. Cannot assess the functionality of the online account services obviously.

Companies house brings up the director as (text removed by MSE Forum Team). I do not know if he has connections to any other energy companies.

Anyone have any other information? Signed up with them?

They take the first DD payment 3 days after the end of your 14 day calling off period.

I think that this is them:

    Edit:

Not showing on MSE CEC but they are listed on The Citizens' Advice Comparison Site. Cheap - yes, but for me they are more expensive than separate suppliers (Zog and GB).

And according to their Twitter feed, the Company launched on the 22nd March and started supplying its first customer on the 30th.

    Hi
They are very new operating in 2015. I have just signed up to them as they are being the cheapest for me, and they pay interest on your account but won't allow lots of overpaying to get their interest. No exit fees which means if they don't live up to what they say then I can leave also leave if energy prices drop again. Would have liked to have seen this on this website energy saving compare site which I am signed up to but found this supplier by going through various compare energy sites and they are also on facebook and twitter.
Just giving the smaller companies a chance and hope the big 6 take notice.

The company didn't officially launch to the consumer until 21st March 2016 according to their Twitter feed. So the possibility of any feedback this early is close to nil.

Edit: It is worrying that the CEC are not showing the tariffs from this new company.

Is it an oversight or something more worrying?

According to Energylynx, they launched their first ever tariff on 29-Mar-2016.

However, I didn't notice them (which was on EHL) until yesterday, and note this is probably linked to the removal of the first tariff they launched, and introduction of a replacement
(but when I checked yesterday, they seem to offer both tariffs on their own website)

It could simply be that as a brand new supplier, they don't want to be swamped with applications at this time, so may have asked some of the comparison sites to withhold their details so they can achieve a smooth launch :)

Whilst comparison site are normally obliged to show all the suppliers & all the tariffs, a supplier can request that their details are NOT shown.

I think it was Daligas that have previously been stated as an example of a supplier that has done this in the past i.e. when they launched, to suppress demand.

They are now on CEC and they are my cheapest Dual Fuel, beating Sainsburys by a fiver!

But as a new supplier, I'm very cautious to say yes.

    Need to do more digging....!
4kWp, SSE, SolarEdge P300 optimisers & SE3500 Inverter, in occasionally sunny Corby, Northants.
Now with added Sunsynk 5kw hybrid ecco inverter & 15kWh Fogstar batteries. Oh Octopus Energy too.

Look at separate suppliers. Dual fuel deals are no longer the cheapest on the market.

So much for Ofgem's rules designed to simplify the tariff structure for customers. With your point, and a host of 'collective' tariffs, even us 'anoraks' are finding it more difficult!

I agree. I have just received an e-mail from USwitch telling me that I could save £66 per year by switching to the plans that I am already on. As far as I can tell, this is their computer calculating that my present plans are 9 months fixed tariff and 3 standard so if I switched to the same plans for a new 12 month fixed period, I would save £66 over the next 12 months. It really is time that Ofgem was made to drop this grossly misleading savings methodology.

To get back on thread, I could save a £1 a year by switching my electricity to Iresa. I think that I will probably stay with GB.

  • Iresa is coming cheapest to me as well. But I am looking for feedback but as they are new there is not much on web. Any feedback would be very valuable.
