I am currently with EDF until March 2017 but am considering IRESA as their prices for gas and electricity are slightly less than I am paying. Do you pay your first DD as soon as you sign up with them? thaks
Signed up with them today. There is a 14 day cooling off period and then 3 days later they take the first Direct Debit payment in advance. Actual switch over is about 10 days later.0 -
There is not much I can add to post #32, as this is 100% factual. Just be aware that the prices on their website do not include the 5% VAT element. Apart from that the option to switch if/when a lower tariff appears on the market made my decision to switch.0

Began my switch to Iresa in June, and switched in July.
Not had any problems at all so far - managed to build up quite a bit of credit on both accounts (which I have noticed they pay me interest on, not something I had looked at before), but I am sure that will change over the winter, so I think they've pegged the DD about right.
Bills aren't the easiest to understand, but to be honest, energy supply bills never are are they! On the plus side the online account is pretty good for a new company, and you can view bills or transactions so I've managed to get to grips with how the land lies.
I've not had any call to call them up for anything, so can't vouch for customer service if things go wrong however.0 -
Just signed up (28th October), will update when switch is over0

Iresa also appear the cheapest for me currently too, although a quick search of Google does throw up some negative reviews

The reviews on their own Facebook page aren't exactly endearing either

Obviously its early days, so I think i'll give it a few months and wait to read the longer term feedback here before switching to them."Dont expect anybody else to support you, maybe you have a trust fund, maybe you have a wealthy spouse, but you never know when each one, might run out" - Mary Schmich0 -
Signed up this morning.
Easy as pie.
Received emails right away confirming details and login for readings etc.
Best part is zero penalties for moving.
I guess the deal is so good you will stay !
Saved me £510 compared with if i had stayed with sse !0 -
I can't believe people would sign up with a energy company with such horrendous reviews. All for the sake of probably around £10 a month.0

I have already begun the process of switching to IRESA and due to go live on 26th October. I was with EON MSE fixed until early October and was in the same boat as many others, facing an uncompetitive price as an existing EON customer. So far the switch has gone smoothly, with quick progress updates and have already paid my upfront DD payment. My deal should cost about the same as the previous EON fix and the option to leave with no penalty will ensure that I keep a close eye on the numerous new deals from the energy companies and comparison sites. I will post any news, good or bad on my experiences.
Hi BobMac62
How has your switch to Iresa gone? Are you now with them?0 -
I'm on the verge of also switching to IRESA, so am very keen to know how things are currently progressing, particularly in regards to giving meter readings, as this seems to be a big negative on older reviews that they were being ignored.0

Nobody gave away your account to another company, I'm afraid you are a victim of an "Erroneous Transfer"
These happen when someone else changes supplier and a c0ck-up occurs in the system.
In your case it happened to involve a new small supplier, but it can happen to anyone at any time, and any supplier including the Big6.
The rule is that the inconvenienced customer should not be financially disadvantaged, get onto n'power and Iresa and ask to be put back.
Meanwhile carefully check any bills you get - They could be for someone elses meter0
