Iresa Limited - New Energy Company?

Same problem here. No gas bill generated from any reading I gave them. Electric also is going tits up too. Seems they billed me for over £100 for one months use. They never reply to any support messages I leave. Some are months old and still no reply. I am considering my options right now.0

They are cheap but the service is terrible. We joIned in October and are still waiting for a gas bill. They ask for a meter reading every month for both gas and electric but for some reason can only produce electric bills . Their phone lines are not open as long as the larger companies so you are restricted to emailing them about issues and they don't reply . I am on the brink of referring my complaint to the energy regulator. I would prefer to pay more and have proper service.0

I have just received an email from Iresa requesting my meter readings so they can produce my bill. My direct debit is due at the beginning of the month.
Could people tell me three dates please:
1) What date of the month do you normally receive requests for meter readings? Ie: 25th of each month.
2) What date is your direct debit due?
3) What date do you usually receive your bill?
I'm curious if Iresa generate bills at a set time of each month and how this date matches the other two dates.
I normally take a reading at the end of each month, the day before my direct debit is taken. This is out of habit with OVO as my statement from them would be generated on the same day as my direct debit was taken, meaning very accurate bills.0 -

1. March was 21st, April 25th so your guess is as good as mine.
2. Direct debit payments are taken on or around 20th of each month see http://www.iresa.co.uk/frequently-asked-questions/ (this date cannot be changed by you)
3. The bill for the previous month's usage is supposed to be available around the 10th of each month.
I tend to ignore the meter reading email reminders and provide my meter readings on the last day of each month.0 -

Well why haven't you ditched and switched?
Plenty of Stella suppliers out there.
(although I sourced our gas cheaper than Iresa from another small supplier - one that has no telephone number for you to call for customer service, and not even online account management - apparently they recently came out top for customer service in an MSE poll.)
There is no early exit fee to worry about, and you will then get a final bill from Iresa
Otherwise, it may be a whole 12 months before you get a bill from them according to their website.
The longer you don't get a bill, the more credit your account is building up, and Iresa uniquely pay 4% interest on all credit balances.
But don't let any of that stop you ditching & switching to a more expensive supplier ...
Good luck!0 -
I agree with "footy Guy"
If you are not being charged more than your expected amount and are still getting your gas and electricity supply and not also being charged by your old supplier; then you have nothing to worry about.17 Sharp Panels. of 230 watts (3.91 KW)

It also suprises me that all these people that are having problems with Iresa have not already started a switch to an alternative supplier. There are plenty of other suppliers to choose from.
When we signed up with them for electric, we thought it was worth giving them a try, as if they were no good, we can switch away with no exit fee.
So far, not had any problems; no need to contact them by phone, on-line message support answered within a reasonable time ( a few days, but were not expecting an instant response). All communications have been according to their T&C's/FAQ.
If we were having any major problems (like some of those being reported on here) we would just start a new switch in the usual way.
We would certainly not go cancelling the existing DD until the final bill/refund arrived, as that is just asking for problems with a switch with any company :eek:0 -

Yes, switching away is an option but it doesn't get around the billing problem which gas consumers are experiencing. Over 3 months ago, I asked Iresa to reverse an incorrect bill (as the start date and meter readings were wrong) and re-issue it. To date, there has been total inaction and no further bills. This is a system account and does not represent a real person. To contact the Forum Team email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0
