  • Divadee,

The developer has an agreement with your neighbour ONLY IF he gets planning permission.

The developer has taken no risk whatsoever thus far, which would tell me that the developer is not confident of getting planning permission. If the developer was confident of getting planning permission, he would have already bought the existing house and land. He hasn't - that should tell you something.

Wait until the grounds for refusal are known. If these grounds are utterly irrefutable (and they sound like they will be), then the developer will not risk any money in pursuing an appeal. He may tell your neighbour that he can appeal (at your neighbour's expense) and the developer will buy the house and land if the appeal is successful. Again, the developer takes no risk.

Even if the developer were willing to risk backing your neighbour financially in an appeal, there is certainly no guarantee that the decision would be overturned.

Try not to worry about things too much - you've won round 1. They may yet decide not to turn up for round 2.

P.S. Your neighbour is a snake, all right.

    I agree - do nothing.

I'm pretty sure that letters of objection can NOT be withdrawn - they are there, on the Public record, for all to see. The only way to withdraw an objection (or an approval) is to write another letter - then both will be on the Public record.

Despite what may, or may not, be going on - none of this will sway the planning officer, who will still make a decision based on planning grounds.

BTW - anyone can apply for planning permission on land they do not own. They simply need to get the owner's permission to apply. But it doesn't matter who applies, the same planning grounds apply so the application will be decided on its own merits - or lack or merits ;)
    Warning ..... I'm a peri-menopausal axe-wielding maniac ;)

Thanks everyone I have calmed down a bit more now!!

I dont know for definate if developer has only bought subject to PP but I can only guess than any sensible one would. If not he owns a useless plot of land :D

I will keep it under my belt for the time being, but if the bull crap billy from next door comes round sprouting lies again, then i will probably have to let him know that i know what he doesnt want me to know :rotfl:

  • Just been reading this *very* interesting thread.

Divadee - this guy is a sad loser who's becoming increasingly desperate to get what he wants, which he won't get and he knows it. Let him make a prat out of himself, stand back and laugh loudly.

Then come on here and tell us all about it! This is better than 'stenders atm! :rotfl:
  • Is it today you get the verdict?

    Hi Diva,

Just noticed this update. This is good news about the planning officer's words.

HOWEVER, do you know if it's going to be refused on delegated powers or still going to committee? If it's going to committee, make sure you still do your speech. It ain't over until the fat lady sings. I'm not singing yet but am doing a couple of mi-mi-mis as a warm up.

As to T*sser doing what he's doing - trying to bribe people etc. that's quite serious but not unsurprising. If any of the neighbours he spoke to felt intimidated by him then they could have a word with the local Police.

And I didn't realise 12 bells Wells was now creeping into your town. He must have run out of places to buy in Bournemouth and Poole.
