    No.

You are entitled to ESA under 16k, just a reduced amount up to 6k.

The letter does not say what you say it does.

The letter states you MAY be entitled if you have savings below £16k. It doesn't say anywhere that you don't need to inform DWP until you have savings over £16k. All the original documentation will have stated that savings over £6k may effect entitlement to Income Related benefit. Nothing in the section of the letter you have reproduced here contradicts that.

what does the rest of the letter say though? It's alright showing part of it.

It also states "savings under £16k" The savings still need to be declared!

    Are you always this dramatic?

Move over Ian McKellan, there's a new star of the stage over here.
  • It's an ESA benefit so would it be DWP not social services thanks for your understanding, unlike some on hear! Who are quite rude, yes he has a low IQ bless him, I so feel for him, but feel powerless :-(
  • He produced it at the DWP meeting she said she would just include it in the statement? Should I be doing something else too support him what shall I write or call them and say what?
  • Yes, but it states nothing about 6 k that the whole point of this post!
  • He has no one else to help him :( I'm elderly myself and live on my own and I'm in my 70's
Il ask some one from the local council to help him
