The annoying thing is Lantana that I don't need very much support at all, (I have just been quietly getting on and losing weight each week), but the one time I ask for a bit of guidance there is nothing. I'd happily live without the stock texts in favour of a genuine bit of encouragement/suggestions of how to make it work when the going gets tough. I'll just come on here instead :-)

Gingerfurball your consultant sounds lovely! I'd love to attend exercise classes and things like that. Our group don't socialise at all.

Welcome back BettyBoof. It's a shame your consultant isn't very supportive. Have you made friends with anyone at group who has been going a while? If you have perhaps you could exchange phone numbers and then if you need a bit of support you can text her instead. Several members at my group have my phone number as a "lifeline"; although it isn't used very much. Your group Facebook page can also be used if you're struggling - asking for help on there will often get you lots of responses - it certainly works for our group.

Not much food in after my 2 breaks! Have had to scrabble around to sort out a menu for today. It's going to be a Green day today:

    B - beans & egg on toast
    L - egg, chips & beans
    D - mixed bean goulash & rice

The only Speed foods today will be tomatoes & onions in the goulash.

    HEA - milk
    HEB - bread

Still have another HEA & HEB to use but not sure what I'll have - if anything.

Need to do a shop tomorrow as fridge is virtually empty as is the fruit bowl.

I think it will definitely be a gain at group this week, just hope it isn't too big! If it is it'll be because of the weekend away when far too much wine was consumed as well as the fish & chips!

    Welcome back Betty.

The discussion about SW consultants and how much support they provide has definitely convinced me that I need to go to a different group - since I joined in April I've never received a single text or email or anything in the post although they have all my details.

I filled a food diary for the first week and handed it in then didn't get any feedback. I haven't handed them in since and nothing's been said so it amuses me that your consultant texted you about yours Betty.

I haven't been for 2 weeks so you'd think she'd have made some effort to encourage me to return/continue.

I don't think I'm particularly needy but it would be nice to get some encouragement.

Joedenise I chat with everyone but haven't made a special friend (that sounds dodgier than I meant it to be!) I do text my best friend my weight losses which is nice for a bit of cheerleading. I will check out our FB group, that's a good idea, thank you.

Thanks Lois. I actually got two of my diaries back last week which was good as it's nice to know what you ate on a good week. No texts or encouragement at all is pretty poor form! I suppose I should be grateful for the messages I do get ;)

I can't go to group this week so it will be interesting to see if I get a "was utterly devastated not to see you at group tonight, you must stay committed etc." text :rotfl:

It's very sad but I'm quite excited about "going hard" on my SP menu tomorrow!*

*Obviously I'll be crying into my salad by Thursday and begging for a baked potato.

So after the little wibble I had late last week I think the weekend has mostly gone okay. Mum rang up just as I walked in the door from my weekly salad run at @ldi and asked if me and hubby wanted to come round for an impromtu BBQ last night. Just the 4 of us so it wasn't a big bonanza where there's enough food to feed the 5,000. Just a nice little bit of salad (I bought my gherkins - obsessed I am!), some pork steaks and some BBQ ribs from @ldi too. I didn't have any sausages but I did have a slice of the part baked white baguette. I tried to trim as much fat as possible where I could. I had 1 Becks Blue (I can't drink alcohol) and I didn't have any ice cream. And it was one of my faves - mint choc chip.
So, I have no idea where I stand. If I go by my bathroom scales - which are rotary and not digital I'm getting very close to the next stone mark, but these scales are a bit kind and lower than my WI scales. I'm hoping I don't gain but que sera sera.
Will find out in about an hour!

I think it's great that you see it as a challenge. I said on here a while back that you can look at SW plans as a spectrum with full EE at one end and full SP at the other. So even with some carbs during the week you'll be closer to the SP end which is better for weightloss

I used to think having peas with a meal was a Speed opportunity missed but now I think of them as upping my protein which is good as we generally have small meat portions.
If you like gherkins mrsp then you should try the cornichons in Lidl. They're yummy. Good luck for WI, I'd be surprised if yesterday caught up yet.
