Thanks for the support guys. It means a lot. Today is a little easier. Haven't cried yet but I'm very, very tired. Probably emotional and also some late nights in the last week. Plan to go to bed very early and try and lie-in as icy as possible tomorrow.
We still have 2 cats -Darcy and Bubba (Bournville). We most likely will get another cat (or two, maybe) in October. We're on holiday in a fortnight and then plan to go for a short break start of October. After that we're not planning on going anywhere so will be around for newbie to settle in.
Today food wise has been okay. SW omelette for breakfast. Lunch was 1 quarter of a sandwich and about half a baguette with salad and fruit at a training session in Birmingham. Just had chicken breast wrapped in bacon (hubby didn't do an amazing g job of getting rid of all the fat) with leeks and Swiss chard. I added some chutney to it too for a bit of flavour. So, not too bad but probably a bit vague. Could be worse I suppose0 -
Hello - hoping I can join here:)
I've just joined a local group yesterday and have been reading up and getting the hang of the plan today, been a while since I went to club and it was Green days last time.
The group I went to seemed friendly, think a lot were away. I will have to move around groups with work and won't always be able to stay for the meeting but am aiming to as much as possible.
I have joined with a 12 week council referral voucher pack as I realised you could apply if you worked in this borough (my council don't find the free voucher scheme. So I've got 1 lot of 12 weeks free to attend (the weight I gave the council was wrong I was 7lbs heavier on weigh in so got to work hard to lose the 5% target the council set to get another 12 weeks free - think I'll leave it and not ask them to alter it to give me more incentive to lose!
I'm hoping this works - I'm vegan so lots of foods I can't have and I don't like artificial sweeteners so will use my syns for sugars if needed.
Think I've overdone the speed foods today as felt a bit shaky and ill earlier but had one of this alpen Jaffa cake cereal bars and felt better.
Today's food has been:
Breakfast Alpro Go black currant soya yoghurt with 35g oats and fruits mixed in.
Lunch - Indian chick pea salad with potato, spices, tamarind hot sauce, salad leaf.
Dinner - Tofu and vegetable stir fry with rice and sweet and sour sauce.
Snacks - banana, satsuma
Syns - soya yoghurt 1.5, sweet and sour sauce 5, cereal bar 3 and no idea what spicy tamarind sauce is but was so hot didn't need a lot.
Not sure yet if that's ok or not, got to hand food diary in next week but don't know what the consultant will make of vegan foods.
I'll have a glass of almond milk later as not had an6 milk today apart from some soya in a cup of tea out.
I've set first target of 2 stone loss but in all honesty need to lose at least 4 stone.
Really missing my toast today but don't think I'd better have any.Sealed Pot Challenge number 8 Amount declared £365.50.

Hi Alison - welcome to the thread, feel to ask any questions about the plan, I'm sure someone will be able to help.
Being vegan could be a challenge on SW, but there will be ways to work around the system. You mention sugar, what other things will you have to cut back on in order to keep to plan?
LLStart BMI - 38.7 Current BMI - 31.2 Target BMI - 26.30 -
Welcome to the thread Alison. Although Green days aren't in the books/online any more you can still do them if you want. EE should be OK for you but you then miss out on the additional HEX. I'm not hugely au fait with a vegan way of eating but I'd have thought provided you have your protein as things like pulses then you'll be fine. So whereas I might have a third lean meat/fish, a third carbs and a third (at least!) Speed you just need to swap my meat for other protein. You'll need to be sure that what you chose is suitable for vegans but you're probably used to that and as most of us cook from scratch on SW then additives aren't an issue.
Tamarind sauce is fairly low syn depending on the brand. It's about the same as common sauces (like mayo and ketchup) or possibly even lower if you don't need much. No problem having toast provided you stick within your HEB allowance or syn it.
We're off to a matinee today and meeting up with friends first for lunch. I've looked up the menu and salads look strangely absent???? I suppose places use bread and chips as fillers but it is so difficult to eat out and eat healthily:(.
I've had my SW breakfast (Puffed wheat with HEA milk) but an off plan lunch looks very likely.:o0 -
sorry about your manager, maman! Hope you get another good one - each of your last few has improved on the previous one's good work, so your board must be getting something right!Sewing 88/COLOR]Woollies 19Card s 91Reading 37/400

Afternoon all  massively busy week at work over and done with so I can get down and concentrate on weight loss - as I expected it was a gain of 1.5lb on Thursday
12 week countdown bought, diary ordered, head back in the game (maybe
:rotfl:)
There were quite a few people at class with a gain this week (of those that stayed) must have been the bank holiday!Week 3 of challenge I was disappointed to onlylose 1/2 lb after my gain the week before but I more than made up for it last week (week 4 of challenge) with a whopping (well, for me anyway) 2.5 lbs off. I am now at the lightest I have been for at least seven years,
Its a shame you missed the chart Emmylou, you'd have been joint SOTW so we'll congratulate now instead :T:T:T:T:T:T:T:T:T and well done on your total weight loss.. brilliant achievement! :T:Tgreentiger wrote: »After trying unsuccessfully to perform rice cpr, it was pronounced dead, so I had to bite the bullet and get a new one.
Greentiger, what a rubbish week, but this bit did make me giggle!! :rotfl:Disappointed to reort a STS this week.
You've still lost 8lbs in 5 weeks Beanie :T:T
I didn't really like the couple in Loose Weight for Love this week either.. they seemed a bit selfish.. maybe it was the way it was edited though
BEG  glad you figured out what caused your gain, can't wait to see how much you lose next week. Will you have to pay though?
:T to the new group Lantanna, hope yours will be as good Lois! Why don't we reward ourselves with something positive and healthy (of mind and body!) A walk in the park, a good read, even some extra healthy food. Where is the sense in a reward that harms us? Answers on a postcard! x
Can you post the answers when you get them:D Personally, as children, we used to be treated with sweets etc when there was a bit of extra cash in the house so food for me is definitely a reward:o it's hard to break the cycle that we all have isn't it!
Welcome to the board Alisont  as maman said it might be better for you to follow the green plan then you could have your toast as your additional HEB.
I'm going old school today with a red day(2x hea/b's) can't do SP as i'm having potato..
B - none
L - open wholemeal thin sandwich(heb), chicken, BBQ sauce (1) salad, pickles
T - pizza meatloaf (2CC's recipe) (hea), salad, wedges (heb)
S - crisps (4.5) fruit, yogurt
Off to the theatre later so tea will be early and I shall be avoiding all interval snacks!Mortgage amount at 31/12/2011 £166,050 now £0 as at Sept 21 - 15yrs 4 months early.0 -
Just ordered some of these in the shopping btw, haven't seen them mentioned on the thread but someone at class raves about them..
Pork and herb patties - http://www.tesco.com/groceries/product/details/?id=289706028
2.5 syns per pattie and they taste like macdonalds sausage muffins thingies apparently.. unfortunately I don't think there is a muffin that counts as a heb  but you could always have a wholemeal roll I guess.
It would definitely work out cheaper than macdonalds though!Mortgage amount at 31/12/2011 £166,050 now £0 as at Sept 21 - 15yrs 4 months early.0 -
Afternoon everyone! A very lucky maintainfor me this week.
Haven't been around much. I wouldn't go as far as to say that I've fallen off plan, but equally I haven't been on plan either! My 9 month old has decided that sleep is for losers, so I've been walking around like a zombie, so planning and cooking has gone on the back burner.
Really need to get my bum in gear and lose another half stone at least before my holiday in August. So in the spirit of doing things right, I will start posting my menus again.
Todays:
B - 2 x hifi (heb), banana
L - Subway chicken salad (2)
S - milky way rolls (6.5)
D - Mousakka, salad
E - Mini twister (2), wotsits (4.5)
Hope everyone is doing ok and well done for all your losses!0 -
Sympathy on the loss of your furbaby mrsp, hard to lose a pet
Am feeling very sick at the moment, son left for Camden Rocks Festival this morning and 'forgot' to let me know when he got there . Very stressed at the moment, heart fluttering and feels like somethings sitting on my chestso bread was consumed and now feel worse
Next week he's off to download and driving himself and his mate, I am gonna be so ill by the time he gets back _pale_.
Sun has finally shown its face here after a freezing cold week, typical as I go back to work and the weather warms up
Top it off with a 1lb gain, totally fed up but all down to meIts not what you do but the way that you do it, thats what get results :T
