Today is a difficult day. We had our eldest cat, Skip, put to sleep this morning. She'd not been well for a number of weeks and just hadn't been improving no matter what we did. She had an accident last night and we decided that it was time and it would be cruel based on her quality of life now.
I've eaten well so far (sort of) and hubby said he's not cooking tonight and we're having takeaway. I can't argue with that. My brain is just foggy and I still feel like crying at very little so one day of a takeaway won't kill me. I didn't buy any cakes or anything in Gr£ggs earlier so I did well there. I'm just very sad today0 -

Hi all. Sorry I've been quiet, really struggling to find time to keep up with the thread at the moment. Just dropping in to say I've had a 0.5lb gain this week - much better than anticipated because I went very off plan at the weekend! Line drawn now though, back on track0

Sending you a great big hug mrsp.:)
Sorry to hear you had a big slip up last night lois. It's easily done. It's only since meeting people on here and at group that I've realised how eating and emotions can be so linked. I think before I just thought that everyone was like me and just over indulged. It was naïve of me really as my weight gain was largely down to too much wine at the end of stressful days and then munching without thinking or missing meals and grabbing junk food (crisps, pasties, pork pies) in petrol stations on my way to meetings. Hopefully you're feeling better today and can move forward with a new group. Last night won't have done too much damage looked at over the time to get to your goal. You can do it! :A
I have made fishcakes before candy, last time with a tin of red salmon that had been in the cupboard for ages. It was a SW recipe and quite tasty. I'll see if I can find it. I've also seen that Lidl's have salmon fishcakes for 1 syn each so I may get some of those to try.
I was good at lunchtime today. The pub had a bacon and avocado salad on the menu but I asked them to swap the avocado for chicken. I make that probably about 2 syns for dressing which is far better than the sausage baguette I'd normally have. And I only had fizzy water to drink so no wine syns either.
Today's EE plan:
B: NAS grapefruit, 2 boiled eggs, HEB toast, HEA milk for drinks
L: bacon and chicken saladsavoury mince, new potatoes, carrots, cauli, cabbage and peas
Syns: salad dressing0 -
mrsp, I know just how you feel - I've been in your shoes a couple of times
Take your time to grieve.
I've not been posting recently, but I have been eavesdropping. The weather here has been fab and it's to continue warm, although a couple of showers are forecast for tomorrow, but back to sunshine for the weekend, so that'll keep me away from the computer.
Well, having had to spend a fortune to get my 8month old pc fixed a couple of weeks ago, my 7 month old vacuum died at the weekend. It's guaranteed until 2020 and engineer is coming on Saturday. Then on Monday morning my phone fell in the loo and drowned. After trying unsuccessfully to perform rice cpr, it was pronounced dead, so I had to bite the bullet and get a new one. I had been really happy with the one I had and hadn't bothered to upgrade it so I've just been paying for calls etc. Oh well, that's a budget cut coming somewhere else now. That makes 3 things, so hopefully I'm safe for a while, because they've just caused me to comfort eat!

Big hugs mrsp it's heartbreaking saying goodbye to a pet, so look after yourself :lovethougWe've had to say goodbye to a fair few pets over the years and it's never easy
Lois I think there's a voucher for SW in Bella at the moment, there's a Slimming World logo on the front of it anyway so I'm guessing there's a voucher inside. I was looking for a different mag when I saw it, I didn't look inside.
We had a tiny bit of sunshine today so I'm a happier bunny

I'm giving myself today to feel sorry for myself and mopey. To be fair, I didn't have breakfast, I had a 250g pack of sushi and a curlywurly for lunch and then kung po beef (spicy sauce with cashew nuts and bamboo thingies and water chestnuts) 2x sesame toast and boiled rice for dinner. Granted I had 4 cans of Diet Coke too!!
So, all in all not a totally terrible day I suppose. I could've been much, much worse.
Anyway, back on it tomorrow. Am at a training session in Birmingham so will see what they provide for lunch but I will try and stay as close to plan as possible.
In bed and I miss Skip. This is where she's stayed for most of the last few weeks. Hopefully a good nights sleep will leave me less melancholy.
Thanks for all the support - it means a lot xx0
