Can I post in here for some help? I joined SW last year (March) and lost 3st (with another 3.5st to go). Then I hit xmas and my boys birthday, my birthday, my girls birthday and trying to finish a course. I've put 7lb on. I can't make meeting this week, didn't make it last week.
My OH is away with work a lot so I'm home alone with 2 kids and I work full time. I'm shattered yes, but I know part of that is that I'm eating badly so I feel rubbish. But I can't get the motivation back. So I thought maybe if I post in here that will help?
I struggle with lunch and breakfast. I eat at work because I have to get me up, both kids up and to school/nursery and then do a full day. Of course this is no different to single mums I know and I know I should shut up but I need help.
I'm also trying to finish my phd and mentally that is draining me to.
So, I guess what I'm asking is for ideas for breakfast and lunch. Easy things that I can grab.
Also I guess I'm looking for somewhere to talk about it too as a lot of my friends who were doing SW with me last year have since given upTrying to get on top of finances one step at a time0 -
Hi all - just back from the hairdressers where I got my *natural highlights* seen too....this is a new hairdressers - I've only been to them 3 times now (after *cheating* on my long term hairdresser lol) and I love them!! It's a real indulgence (they have a cafe attached to the salon and serve up free, tea coffee - capps and lattes, hot chocolate or wine!! - you have to pay for the waters lol...I had decaff tea)
Thing is they only use organic products and can be seen as expensive but with my previous hairdresser I had to go see her every 4 to 5 weeks (and by then I'd be hating myself because of my roots) - but this time I got EIGHT weeks between colours and could really have dragged it out a little bit more...the colorist I got is the salon owner and made up this concoction of dark blonde/red with copper highlights....I feel very glam and swish lol!!
B: some melon at the hairdressers
L: ham and cheese and salad sandwich with a couple of clementineswas planning jerseys with veg an pork but DH wants a spag bol so we'll see
(well done to Jocks SOTW, all losers and hugs to those who need them)
I've been taking 5-HTP for a couple of weeks now and it's had a brilliant change in my general anxiety....((hugs))0 -
Welcome wiggly. Of course you can post here. As for help with breakfasts and lunches it would help to know what facilities you have at work - just a kettle, microwave, toaster, canteen etc.
Assuming you have at least a kettle and microwave I'd suggest porridge made with water or if you don't use a lot of milk generally for tea/coffee, milk with some Speed fruits; Some fruit with yoghurt or sweetened quark.
For lunches - jacket potato with baked beans & salad; various salads with different forms of protein - ham, egg, tuna etc; pasta salads; rice salads; a sandwich with protein & salad using bread as your HEB. Leftovers for previous night's dinner.
However, if you don't have a microwave get yourself a food flask and take leftovers from home heated up before leaving for work; HM soups or there are some tinned soups which you can have as HEB.
If you have access to the SW website you'll find some ideas on there for breakfasts and lunches on the go.
HTH.

Well done Jock on SOTW and congratulations to all the losers and hugs for those who need them.
Another EE day today:
B - beans on toast (2 crustless)
L - bacon & mushroom omelette
D - Salt marsh Barnsley chop; HM ratatouille (toms; aubergine, courgette, onions etc); mashed potatoes. Strawberries, grapes & pineapple, sweetened quark and a mini meringue
HEA - milk in tea throughout the day
HEB - 2 slices crustless WM; probably have a Ryvita later with butter
Syns - butter 2; mini meringue 1; glass of red 6

Wiggly - I eat at work for breakfast and lunch. Breakfast is normally some healthy extra cereal portion, mixed with a mullerlight and some frozen berries. I prepare it the night before.
Lunch - A soup, again prepared in a batch and frozen, a mullerlight and some fruit. Occassionally I'll have leftovers or if we're cooking baked potatoes, often stick an extra one in and microwave with a few beans.
I finish work fairly early, I'm home by 4 and I have a few syns as a snack.
Pretty much every day I'm at work, if I'm out and about with work and they're paying for a lunch I buy a salad bowl and some nice ham and have that.
Off to weigh in right now!
I admit it's nothing exciting, but I really can't be bothered making myself an omelette or something. The breakfast fills me up until midday, but I eat it fairly early.0 -
Horrible woman, I'm still surprised she made it through all the consultant interviews and training without her true personality coming out.
I find myself wondering this about so many people in life in general!greentiger supports Falkirk tete. Are you sure Gaston does belong to you? He was still one of our players when I last looked.
Freudian slip!!Oops sorry GT, still getting my bearings about who's who and where on here!
Great loss Arkers, enjoy your holiday!
Jock - some really interesting points about gender differences in weight loss, lots of things I'd never considered. I don't think it's a cop out to blame hormones a lot of the time for women as well - so annoying.
Ginger you sound so happy with your hair! I normally get foil highlights in my dark blonde hair, resulting in really dark-looking roots, but last time I went she used the balayage technique and it's fab - no roots to speak of and I've just booked to go for a trim for the first time in years (i.e. no colour needed yet) - hurrah!
Welcome Lulu and Wiggly! As a tasty, easy-to-make, portable breakfast/snack, I love baked oats! I do them with carrot and cinnamon and it's kind of like a carrot cake
Right, now that I've prattled on for half a page:
B - Apple, passion fruit and Muller Light
D - Bacon, tomatoes, mushrooms, spaghetti shapes, 2x Asda Mini carrot and potato waffles (2), 1 slice crustless toast (no spread, half HExB)
T (will be) - Hoi Sin beef stir fry (1)
Other - 3x coffees (HExA, 3), Alpen Light (half HExB), banana, four raw mushrooms (was starving), camomile tea, NAS Ribera.
TOTAL so far - 6, will have a hot chocolate or two later so total will be 8 or 10.Weightloss: 14.5/65lb0 -
D - Salt marsh Barnsley chop; HM ratatouille (toms; aubergine, courgette, onions etc); mashed potatoes. Strawberries, grapes & pineapple, sweetened quark and a mini meringue
 your dinner sounds yummy denise. I love lamb, particularly saltmarsh.
Change of plan for dinner tonight. I wasn't out for long so we're having Austrian hash. That means a few syns as I put a tiny bit of chorizo in it. Probably a good idea to have the Bolognese tomorrow as it's a lighter meal the night before WI.;)0 -

Oh dear about your consultant. Ours is lovely and she is very knowledgable and helpful. The group often go out for Toby Carvery and things like that.
I wouldn't say I'm a trophy as such, but it's nice to be an inspiration to other members to show that you CAN do it!
I often fill in on the weighing desk and shop. This week I think I will be doing the raffle tickets as the usual lady (one of my close friends) is away. The shop desk has a lady that does it, but she regularly takes "breaks" and then comes back, so quite often I find she's not there. It's nice that the consultant trusts me enough to do these things. I haven't learnt the pay desk yet, but the lady that does that is very reliable and it's not often she's not there, unless she's on holiday.
Can't wait to get my 5 stone award and get myself down to Pandora and treat myself to something.
On the 18th June myself and 8 work colleagues are doing Gung HO 5k run at Sandwell Valley, West Midlands. We are just in the process of setting up the justgiving page, as we are undecided which charity to nominate. Am dreading it lol!Striving to clear the mortgage before it finishes in Dec 2028 - amount currently owed - £26,322.670 -

Welcome to the thread wigglyMy usual lunch at work is some kind of snack pot (think slightly posher pot noodle!) There are lots of free ones and lots at only 1-2 syn. I tend to get Deli Box ones, but there's various options out there. All you need to do is add a bit of boiling water and there's your meal. Only downside is there's no speed component, I tend to make up for that by having it with some fruit
