Arkers, yes I tend to do about 30 mins cardio, sometimes more and 2 - 3 types of weights in a session. I split it into Chest & Back, Arms, Legs and Shoulders. So one day I do Arms, the next Chest & Back etc. Personally I feel more toned and stronger so yes I would def say do it. Its takes an extreme amount of work to get muscly or ripped so don't worry about suddenly turning into Popeye. lol Try adding some in and see what you think. I think the thing with them is to be looking to progress over time with the kg you can lift and to go slow and steady.

I am totally chuffed with a 3.5 lb loss please Shala! I am now 2.5lbs away from target, and exactly 1 week away from me going away for a week to Spain, so it will be a tough one for me to reach that, but hey I'm not worried as I know I can get back onto the SW plan when I return with the inevitable gain!

B-E-G I'd like to get one of those mugs, I'll have to look out for one!

I'm struggling with bone idle teenagers doing GCSE/A'Level, so please feel my pain. Thank goodness I have a dog who always seems to take my side!:D

Brilliant loss Arkers and so close to target now ;). Why not be as good as you can this week, enjoy your holiday and then sort things out when you get back. I'm sure it will not be too long before you are joining us on the target sofa :D. Enjoy your hols that is the main thing .

I think I got the SW mug for winning one of the competitions.

Getting so close to the next bit of bling Abbafan - it will be yours before you know it ;). Have you set a target yet?

Well done to your DS beanie on completing 3yrs at uni :T. Has he finished now or does he have more to go?

Lost 1.5lbs at last weigh in, just need 3lbs for my 5st award! Although the consultant said it was 2 at the group discussion! I know she likes me to stay (I generally do unless I have something else on), as I'm somewhat of a celebrity in the group as I've lost the most and it looks good for new members! :rotfl:

My (now former) consultant was the same with me. :rotfl: But all it did was bring out my stubborn rebellious side, wanting to sabotage myself so she looked bad. Particularly when she's not even supportive, so I was mad at being used as her trophy when she had absolutely nothing to do with my losses. So I just stopped staying to group, and she started being quite rude to me about it. Horrible woman, I'm still surprised she made it through all the consultant interviews and training without her true personality coming out.

    Today's plan...
Breakfast - Oats, fruit and latte (felt like it today! A/B)
    Lunch - Leftovers
Dinner - Hunter's chicken, sweet potato and salad

Jock - amazing weight loss, are you fed up with winning all that old fruit!

I've only won the fruit once! Ours is anything vaguely healthy, I once chucked a box of celebrations in there to stop tempting me after Christmas and I got told off, I pointed out they were only 2 syns each and a good chocolate fix.

If I win it again this week, they'll be making up new rules, in my defence I was there a year last time and won it six times, hardly a lot, whilst my weight loss is normally fairly good and consistent, normally someone has a really decent week!

I think men are different to women with weight loss and why they do better, generally they have more to lose, usually if a man is humiliating himself each week to go, he normally has been sent by his Doctor or after a scare, they don't go to lose 10lbs before their holidays!

They also come to it completely fresh and hence get a good metabolism boost from going from an awful diet to an extremely good one. As we discussed in our group, if you'd been eating salad in the run up to joining, you're not going to get massive weight losses. If you'd decided to join SW the following week and have a week of stuffing your face, you'll do better.

Mine generally will drop off and I'll lose about 2-3lbs a week, not sure about this weigh in as I don't really feel I lost 7lbs last week, so might not be massive. I also do a lot of exercise, I walk 7 miles a day to get to work, which is considerably more body magic than the chart can even cope with. So you'd hope for a good pound a week from just that.

I agree you cannot gain or lose large amounts in one week, however people forget that we are 70% water, so a loss of 1lb, is actually 70% water, otherwise losses of more than a couple of pounds a week would be impossible. Your body also can hold onto water, I often find that my weight stays the same most days and then one day, I wee a lot and lose 2lbs and it stays off.

I also think salt messes with me, it makes you hold onto water, hence a chinese takeaway can add a temp weight loss to me, even if its SW friendly.

:T on more losses arkers and abbafan.

I'd agree about enjoying your holiday first arkers. It would be great to get to target first but any gain will soon go.

I'm a bit of a 'trophy' at my group too june although fortunately for me in a nice way. I'm her longest serving target member. There might be more but any others don't come to group any more.

I have a Thursday morning WI rebster. Perfect for reining back in after the weekend.

Greentiger, do I deduce you're a Sheff Wed fan? I must confess I was glad to see Brighton lose after that horror tackle on our lovely Gaston, then making such a fuss about the red card :D

greentiger supports Falkirk tete. Are you sure Gaston does belong to you? He was still one of our players when I last looked. ;)

I had a good day yesterday only about 2 syns passed my lips (squirt of HP sauce?). Hopefully today will be similar.

This is today's rough plan but dinner might change if I have more time for prep as Austrian Hash is what's meant to be on the menu.

    EE menu:
B: NAS grapefruit, baked beans, HEB toast, HEA milk for drinks
    L: LO beef casserole
    D: SW spaghetti Bolognese
    Syns: none planned

    Hiya :)

Been to class this morning and lost 1.5lbs, that means I got my first shiny but didn't see a new number on the scales- that will be next week providing I don't STS.

Thanks for the chart Shala and well done Jock for SOTW. :T you'll achieve your target by next week at this rate. :D

Sending a virtual hug to all those who need one, commiserations if the scales weren't kind to you and congratulations to all t he losers.

    Have a great week.

Congratulations on your twins and well done for getting going on losing any babyweight so soon.
I'd say that you'll have lower syn alternatives at the Chinese than the Indian. I'd go for something like chicken with black bean, definitely plain boiled rice and steer clear of any spring rolls.
If you have access to synsonline then put in Chinese restaurants and options will come up.
    Have a nice evening.
