Abbanfan - Well done on the small jeans! I will have to have a look at those ones. Always on the look out for comfy jeans.

Shala - Have fun with your Dyson!

Well done to all the losses!

The sunshine has well and truly pushed me off the wagon over the weekend. Got to try and claw it back or I will be putting my 3lb loss back on again. Going to try for a low syn day today.

    Plan:

B - overnight oats with berries (heb)
    L - subway chicken salad (2)
D - chilli, rice, cheese (hea)
S - clementines, banana, hifi (3), ff greek yoghurt, berries
    E - 1 hr fitsteps class

I make that 5 syns. Will try not to have more if I can possibly help it!

I was looking for syn values for Old El Paso spice sachets yesterday and noticed an item that was shown as being 40.5 syns - 'Old El Paso One Pan Rice Meal Extra Mild Super Tasty (355g pack)' - so being curious as to what could possibly make it so bad I looked it up on a supermarket website. I was still mystified, you add chicken, peppers, sweetcorn and onions and it looks like a paella. So I put the nutrition info into the syns calculator using rice as free food and it came out as 5.5 syns. It costs £2.00 and all you get is rice, lime sauce and seasoning so it really wouldn't be difficult to make something similar from scratch, syn free.

Sounds like whoever input it at head office made an error. 40.5 syns would be the value for the entire pack (which serves four) if there was absolutely no free food in it as it's around 800 calories total. But as you said, it has rice so that's clearly not correct. They did the same with a yoghurt once and rated it as 6 syns instead of free. Instagram flipped out. :rotfl:

Today is EE. I'm really enjoying not doing SP days at the moment...
Breakfast - Porridge with banana and berries, latte (A/B)
Lunch - Sweet potato jacket with beans and salad
Dinner - Salmon fishcakes with chutney and more salad (6)

I'm trying to use more syns in meals rather than in treats so I'm fine with dinner being high. I normally make my own free ones but sometimes it's good to have a quick option in the freezer.

Hang on in there you three we're all rooting for you!:A

gfb, getting a new bra can be quite a NSV for a much more toned look. Why not just join in with the water bit at your group, that can make a difference. Don't blame you not havng the scan bran though.

Thanks and good luck in the play offs.:)

Yesterday turned out better than anticipated. I had steak and a large salad in the pub but ordered a side of chips to go with it. So the chips and a drizzle of salad dressing was all I had off plan.

Messed around Monday again today as we'll have our main meal about 4 p.m. so it's a case of what SW friendly snacking I do around that.

    Today's plan:
B: NAS grapefruit, HEB Shreddies with HEA milk
L/D: gammon slices, new potatoes, runner beans, carrots
Syns/Snacks: cottage cheese, apple, ham, beetroot

ETA: McCains rustic chips are about the lowest syn at 1.5 syns for 100g but they've got more and more expensive over the years so I rarely buy them as they're a bit of a rip off. There are 2 syn options available more cheaply and more like chips as the rustic one are more like wedges.

Shala, so glad you got a Dyson, you will love it. It's so light and no cord I know they cost a fair bit but they are really worth it. Our son, who is still at home with us bought ours and now he has bought a Dyson so cool air purifier and cooler if it gets too warm this summer !! Mainly though it's for if you have allergies. After five minutes you notice the difference in the atmosphere.

And now for my menu plan today...

Breakfast.. All bran flakes B yoghurt and mixed berries.

Lunch . Ham with an egg salad beetroot light salad cream 2 syns chocolate mousse 5 Syns.

Dinner.. Chicken salad as lunch time. Banana.

Extras.. Half of a petit pain and butter 6 Syns clementine.x 2
    13 syns

I'd like to ask advice about baking trays for making SW chips and roasties.

not MSE in the slightest but I often use disposable trays for oven bits. 6 medium ones for £1 near work.

As we get in to summer OH will eat salads for a change so that's good for me!

struggling to drink enough in this heat if I am honest. I just forget! MIL came round last night with a pavlova and wine syns. pretty low syn days planned until Thursday anyway so not too bad.

    Today:
breakfast - 35g coco shreddies (heb according to my book! I was shocked at that) with 125ml milk (part hea) and an orange
lunch - some orange, cooked chicken and grapes
tea: slimming world chow mein from Iceland but I will admit to not adding any speed as we are a bit light on speed bits!
syns: 9 syns from 6 chocolate fingers

off to the dentist for a third repair on a top molar (so not happy about this - have been today to try and get a refund as so far I've paid 2 band two treatments...I doubt they will give me one but they are meant to be calling the NHS to find out if they need to :/) so I have had tea much earlier than usual (apt is 6.30pm)

going to do overnight oats (no fruit) for tomorrow will add fresh fruit before eating. tuna salad and small jacket for lunch and not sure on tea yet!

Is the whole class doing a blind weigh in Jock? not sure I could stand not knowing!! Although it would be fascinating to see how it affected people.

Not sure if it's a tactic to get people to stay or something, there used to be loads of people in the group last year now not many seem to be in group.

    What is an Actifry tower?

Evening all, hope you had a good weekend and are enjoying the glorious weather :) I weighed in last night with a 3lb loss. The best thing about it is for the first time I can think of, this puts me in the "healthy" BMI range :D I know there are all sorts of arguments as to why BMI is and isn't a useful measure, but having been classed as overweight/obese my entire adult life, it's a pretty good feeling! Did two things quite differently last week, and I think both have probably contributed to my loss. Have eaten a lot less meat and been having a lot of veggie meals, and have also started having all bran for breakfast - think the added fibre really helps, plus it means I get a bigger portion than with most other cereals.

Has anyone tried any Deliciously Ella recipes? Hadn't heard of her previously but was looking for some recipe inspiration over the weekend and noticed her book is very popular at the moment. Had a look on her blog and think I'm going to give this one a go: http://deliciouslyella.com/mediterranean-vegetable-spaghetti/ (minus the olives - yuck!) If it goes well I might see about getting her book.
