  • Morning!
Well I managed to muddle through last week with what was in the cupboards since I was completely disorganised with barely any healthy food bought in. The weekend was a write off with a BBQ on both days although I did notice that I definitely ate less than I usually would have.
Went food shopping with DH on Saturday who was very supportive and happy to have a trolley full of fruit and veg and he even put the burgers back that he'd picked up and replaced it with mini chicken fillets after checking my free foods/syns print out :T

Yesterday I was not hungry whatsoever and had to force myself to eat a plum and apple at 4pm.

Cooked a delicious meal last night - brisket in the slow cooker. I just browned it (no oil) to seal it and popped it in the cooker with 2 oxo cubes in 500ml water for 8 hours. About an hour later I found a jar of spice mix that DH had made up a while ago that we sometimes cover meat or wedges with so I tipped some onto a plate, pulled the brisket out and covered it in the mix on all sides then threw it back in SC. Very scientific recipe!

    Served it with:

    swede/carrot mash - SP
    1 sweet potato (1/2 each) - 0
Roasted carrot (no oil) - SP
    Broccoli- SP
Fine green beans - SP I think?
Salad (rocket, lettuce, baby kale, spinach, beetroot, cherry tomatoes, spring onion) in a separate bowl as DH hates gravy on his salad - All SP I think?
Gravy made from the SC juices, cooled slightly and top fat skimmed off. - 1 syn per portion I think.
1 TBS flour to thicken Gravy - 1.5 syns per portion

Gave anything fatty to DH and I only had the meaty bits. Really delicious with a bit of a kick! I sneakily cut the brisket in half so it was 500g before I cooked it so the other half is in the fridge. As DH had all the fatty bits plus some meaty bits he ended up with about 2/3 of it so never even noticed. Usually the pair of us would scoff the entire kg in 1 sitting

Not sure if my brisket is syn free as no fat or if it is classed as a meat joint so would be 7 syns for my portion?

MIL gave me a slice of HM lemon drizzle cake on Sunday so obviously had to eat it before it went stale

Can't find it on my syn sheet but guessing the syns are high. It was lush though! :p
She believed she could, so she did.

    congratulation beg!

lois- I know I'm shocking! 2 cups of tea so far and some bottles of water on my desk taunting me for not drinking so will crack on with them once I'm back from the wedding dress hop (taking an early lunch as I think I've found THE dress!!)

Well done beg that's an amazing loss :D

My own scales confirmed last night's 1lb off this morning so hoping it's gone for good. 3 weeks till holidays and I really need to pull my socks up and stick to plan.

While I've been overeating I've snuck some exercise in so clothes are looser even if losses have slowed. In some pain today after an ab based workout yesterday so cut to 15 mins yoga this morning and I'm planning a 40 min walk at lunch (to the shops for nail varnish for toes!)

Hope everyone is enjoying the sun. Dinner last night I had chicken burger on wm thin, salad, hm coleslaw and it was delicious.

    Today:
    Bk-Omelette with peppers/toms/mushrooms
Lunch-Hm soup wm thin tuna salad
    Dinner- spag bol
    Snacks -muller light, pufts

I kind of understand the hatred of the BMI. Mine isn't a hatred but an understanding that the number may not reflect your body. I know people that aren't tall and very muscular and are classed as obese because it only takes into account weight and height. On the other hand I'm very short - 5' 2" and at my current weight I'm still 25.1 on BMI and that's after losing 6lbs. I certainly don't look overweight and I have that annoying thing where my friends all say "you don't need to lose weight. Don't be so daft". It's finding the balance between healthiness and happiness with your body

    Afternoon :)

My weigh in today resulted in a STS. I'm not surprised, more annoyed with myself as I only needed to lose 1/2 to get a half stone shiny. On the plus side, it has made me determined to have a good week. The lady that weighed before me was saying how worried she was about getting weighed, then she lost 7.5 lbs! If I lost that amount in a week I think I'd know I'd done alright. If I do that this week I'll get my stone award...:rotfl:

    LL:)
    Start BMI - 38.7 Current BMI - 31.2 Target BMI - 26.3

Lois I know what you mean! Although the week I did think I'd lost very little I'd lost 3lb which made me overjoyed. I am hoping for 2 off this week; that will give me my 1/2st shiny after 4 weeks :)

I can officially say I have paid for THE dress. the wedding suddenly seems very real and very close :) maybe now I'll be more motivated to do some more planning haha.

    Today:
breakfast: overnight Weetabix (heb Weetabix with a few berries and a chocolate orange muller) and a cup of tea
    mid morning: cup of tea
lunch: small salad (spinach, cucumber, beetroot and tuna) a packet of hula hoops (6syn). water and grapes
mid afternoon: more water, apple slices with a dip I made by adding vanilla extract to quark and a tiny amount of sweetener. First time I've flavoured quark or used sweetener!
tea: homemade syn free cottage pie with very little mash - theres peas and onions in the cottage pies. I'll have mine with spinach, cucumber and beetroot

need to go to the shop and get tomatoes and pickled onions at some point but won't be tonight as OH wants me to meet him at Wickes so I can lug about some paving flags for him. in a dress no less :/ he has some bright ideas sometimes!

Have had a quick read back. Well done to all the losers and hugs for those who need them.

Well done BEG on calling target. Plenty of room on the targeteers sofa!

The long weekend has been fantastic with really great weather. Food was a write off on the SW front but plenty of walking done. Definitely in for a gain this week but hopefully will still be within target range as now dead on target weight.

Had a fry up for breakfast, was quite late and not feeling hungry enough to eat lunch so may have a few grapes later (only fruit around until I do some shopping, hopefully tomorrow).

Dinner tonight will be a slow cooked goat shank with mash & veg. Looking forward to the goat - it's been ages since I've managed to buy any but went to a farmers market while we were away and got a couple of goat shanks - the other one's in the freezer for sometime next month.

Will be good to get back to SW food!

I've had a chocolate digestive so that takes me to 10syn. so looking forward to my tea and starving but not having any more syns. going to try and drink most of a 750ml bottle of water in the next 20 mins!

I've decided I'm going to splash out on a countdown at the end of the month as my May expenses (paid at the end of the first week of June) will more than cover it and then I'll save money as I'll get a couple of weeks free and I'll also get that free journal that's coming out soon :) Plus that will then run until about 5 weeks before the wedding so I'll be having my alterations down around the end of my countdown!

Does anyone have the 100 extra easy days book? wondering if it might be good for inspiration maybe?

Menu update... I got the jacket potato while out, asked for no butter which they did without issue. Came with "salad" but it was barely three leaves on the plate so a bit lacking in speed. Will make up for it with plenty of veggies with dinner though!

I am one of the BMI haters. My main issue with it is it being used as a blanket indicator of health with no other lifestyle factors taken into account. As an example, I can guarantee I was healthier even at my heaviest than people I know who drink, smoke (or worse, in some cases) and live off takeaways BUT have a "healthy" BMI. I am short and muscular so can't see myself falling into the healthy category without losing lean body mass. But as long as I'm no longer considered obese, I don't care what the number is below that!

NorthLondonChick - Speed fruit/veg is just S rather than SP which stands for Speed+Protein. Menu looks great though! With the brisket, you may want to allow a few syns for any fat that soaked in during cooking but if you stuck to the lean pieces, I probably wouldn't bother counting unless I was being super strict that day. Aldi sell a brisket that is 1 syn WITH sauce so it can't be that high!
