Just been watching Eat Well for Less - the family were living on ready meals and all eating different things at different times because the Dad has coeliac disease, they were spending a fortune. The poor man was living on salad and very little else so being given gluten free versions of his favourite meals must have been like heaven for him.

He was diagnosed 6 years ago and he must have been given guidelines about what to eat, but I think they'd forgotten it all.

I caught up on this last night; the poor souls I was so surprised. My auntie was told for years she was coeliac so until I was about 20 she was gluten free and the only times we'd notice it would be when we all had sandwiches etc really but I do know how hard it can be. Fear of the unknown I guess though I was surprised he'd buy free from snacks but not the pasta etc

Hope you're OK lantanna and lush? and not seen b-e-g for a bit either.:)
thanks maman I'm lurking. I should be on par for a weightloss this week but if I'm honest I'm really disappointed in myself with how this challenge has gone for me. I think I am going to call target at group tomorrow and try to hit the bottom end for the wedding then move my target again when we are back from the holiday to try and hit target for Christmas. youngest BIL's gf who is due their baby any week now really wants to join as soon as the midwife/hv says its ok after the birth and wants to come to my group so that will be nice for us actually :)
I'm not really drinking enough so I need to work on that asap

    Morning all

Have to confess that yesterday did not go according to plan, so a line has been drawn and I'm having a very low syn day today. I had to do some market research to check whether some croissants were okay (they were ) but I was rather shocked to discover they are 21 syns each. Luckily I didn't have butter and jam on it...! It wouldn't have been so bad if that was the only thing I had, but it wasn't.

Hope everyone is enjoying the lovely weather - it does make it easier to eat salad but I am missing ice cream I have to admit :o

Have you tried frozen Muller light? A few members of my group swear by it as a sweet treat and an alternative to ice cream.

Well done Orlao, great result, even better when you weren't expecting it.

Welcome to the thread ArtDecoGirly, feel free to ask any questions, there's plenty of knowledge amongst us so someone will be able to help.

    Have a good day everyone.

I'm just catching up with Eat Well for Less. My Dad might be coeliac - he's not prepared to reintroduce it to his diet in order to get tested and get the proof so he leads a gluten free diet. He does have some restrictions but it's just about knowing what you can and can't eat.
That poor man! Eating salads every day for tea! And the wife eating ready meals every day to lose weight!! No fresh food whatsoever, bonkers approach IMO.
  • -1/2LB for me this week
Sw quiche for lunch with a salad and more veggie casserole for tea tonight.
    Catch you later.
  • Hi guys.

Lost 1 and a half lbs at weigh in last night which means I got my 1 stone award!

Annoyed at myself though, I met up with the new fella in Plymouth really late and I was starving.. So we went and had a burger from the only place which was open which was a greasy burger place down the Barbican. My god it tasted amazing. I'm sure it'll show on the scales next week!

    Have a good day all!
    Xx

It's only 1 meal out of 21 so it shouldn't completely derail your weight loss this week X

lush - sounds a good idea to call target now and try to get to bottom end for the wedding and then reduce your target after the holiday. Will help to have someone to go with as well as will probably help you stick to plan better.

rjh as mrsp says it's only 1 meal out of 21 during the week. Just stick to plan for the rest of the week and keep the syns a bit lower each day. At lot of people, me included, work on weekly syns so use what I want at the weekend and then rein it back in during the week.

    Today's EE plan:

    B - bacon & mushroom omlette
L - chicken, bacon & soft boiled egg salad, sauteed potatoes (made by DH - it was a copy of a lunch we had in Luxembourg earlier this year) - have to say it was very filling too!
    D - shepherds pie; peas

    HEA - milk
HEB - no idea at the moment but have a few options - toast, hifi bars, dried apricots

No syns planned at the moment but may need a couple for low fat spread and/or chocolate

  • Hi everyone

Checking in with a 3lb loss for this week which I'm chuffed about. I've behaved this week for once, impending holiday next week has given me a kick up the bum! Well done you other losers this week and SOTWs and target achievers :T

Gorgeous weather here today, making the most of it and washing everything in sight.

Will hopefully be able to fit some body magic in later before tea and Bake Off tonight (with a couple of naughties for treat night :D)

Hope everyone's having a good day
    xx
