Well done on your losses MrsR, beanie, lush and Emmylou.:T

lois is right emmy, if you're sticking to plan then you'll get a loss it just doesn't always happen over one week (right lantanna?;))

:hello:Welcome sunnystar. As denise said, you need to do SW all through the day to get proper results. There's nothing wrong with having an extra Weetabix if you really want one but, to me, that's a waste of syns. Have you looked at the SW 7 day menu plan (or at people's menus on here) for ideas for lunches, breakfasts and snacks?

If you have time I'd suggest a good breakfast particularly things like eggs and beans. You can either have Speed veg with them like mushrooms or tomatoes or snack on Speed fruit through the morning. What about a bowl of berries and FF yogurt? or a chopped up apple covered in cottage cheese? It's probably psychological but I find eating something with a spoon more satisfying than just snacking on fruit. Another idea is to make a frittata or mini quiches and snack on those. For lunch I'd have a jacket potato but make sure you have plenty of salad or pickles on the side. To me planning and Speed food are the two keys to SW. Good luck and do ask as many questions as you like. We're a friendly lot on here.:)

wiz, how are your potato scallops made? When I was a child they used to be deep fried in batter!

I had steak, salad and chips last night so not too bad. It was a decent salad too not just a garnish. It was the wine syns that mounted up:o. I'm going to try not to have any today to make up for it but it won't be easy being Friday. I need to do my meal plan and shop today. Lunch is undecided as it'll be soup from the freezer unless I shop first when I'll have more choices.

    Today's EE plan:
B: NAS grapefruit, kippers, HEB bread, HEA milk for teas
    L: tbc
D: chicken casserole (carrots, onions, leeks, celery, mushrooms and courgettes) with new potatoes and broccoli
Syns: scrape of spread, tbsp. (shared) of cornflour in casserole, hopefully 3 syns of chocolate with a mug of tea instead of wine syns.
  • Hiya everyone

Just a quick post as I'm on break at work. Welcome sunnystar this thread's incredibly helpful for those who don't go to a group (myself included) so keep posting your menus and there's always help here if you need it. 3.5 stone loss is amazing well done, I'm hovering around the 3 stone mark somewhere at the moment :D Well done more losers this week :T

Green day for me today I think:

B - puffed wheat HEB with milk HEA split into 2 breakfasts - 1 with banana, 1 with strawbs, lemon detox tea and a cuppa

    L - veg soup with ryvita HEB2

T - veg risotto packed with speed

Syns so far: packet of melba toasts (4) as I got hungry mid morning. Will use some more syns up on pudding I think as I have jelly and some tinned fruit.

    Have a great day everyone
    xx
  • Thanks everyone for the welcome. Not doing too bad, I've been tidying up at my daughters and walked the 40 mins home via Iceland. I've bought some frozen berries will remember to put a hand ful in the fridge for breakfast. I've had half a carton of convent garden tomato and balsamic soup for dinner just on its own and a small Milky Way. For dinner later I've pulled out a home made portion of bolognese and will probably have with roasted veg cous. It really helps writing stuff down.

It definitely helps keeping a record of what you're eating. Studies have proven that his dramatically increases rate and amount of weight loss.

I used slimming world recipe on bolognese. Im quite good at making good choices when making from scratch so it will be 5% mince. It's buying stuff when reduced to pennies hence I had soup in freezer but I've sorted my freezer and cupboard out and will use up any thing naughty and not replace... I've got lots of cereal in but hopefully be back on porridge soon.

Just checked how much rhubarb I can have for HEB and it's 500g:eek:! No way could I eat that much. I weighed it and it was only 250g between us so only about 1/2 syn for my portion as DH will have more than me. I've mixed it with Quark to make a fool.

Still have a HEB spare for this evening if I need it.

B - HEA milk with HEB Weetabix Crunchy Bran. Nectarine
L - Chicken Subway salad 1.5 syns for dressing
D - from the latest SW the turkey and red pepper stroganoff. Add a few mushrooms into it. Got no tagliatelle - so other pasta instead. As about 6-8 weeks ago, Sainsburys were selling some bags of pasta for 20p a bag. Filled a carrier bag of it and its in my wardrobe.

    Syns - booze!

You're in luck sunnystar and the soup you chose is only 7.5 syns for the whole carton. Some of them can be as much as 15 syns:eek:

There's quite a range of cereals allowed for a HEB but the portions are tiny. Puffed Wheat is about the 'lightest' one but maybe not to everyone's taste. It's hard when you've got stuff to eat up that's not very SW friendly. Could you perhaps donate it to the family?

Thanks for the heads up on stewed rhubarb denise. I'd never realised it was so low syn. Did you cook it with sweetener?

Lunch ended up as JP with a small portion of Bolognese sauce that I had in the freezer.

Chicken casserole is in the oven smelling lovely and some of you will be interested to know that I'm down to 1 tin of butterbeans! I stocked up when they were a good price in Home Bargains but I think they're a regular good price in Lidl now.
