Oh I was meaning to ask. I got an ice cream maker for my birthday off my mum. Has anyone got any recipes? I know there are some on the SW website but I thought I'd ask you guys as you might have real world experience and could advise me of any potential pitfalls.

    Morning all

congratulations on the losses. Some really impressive numbers coming through:T
Didn't get a chance to post yesterday as I was busy doing stuff around the house and taking advantage of a dry and windy day for washing - oooh what an exciting day. Lots of Body Magic though lol.
    menu yesterday was

Breakfast: eggy bread (HeB) and DG coffee (2 syns)
    snack: melon
lunch: chicken with tomatoes, cucumber, pickled onions and cournichons, DG coffee (2 syns)
    dinner: chilli and rice
supper: Crackerbread (4 syns) and cheese (HeA)
    extras: 3 x pimms (6 syns)

    syns: 14 syns bank: 80

Off to plan today's menu. I know what I am going to have for tea but need to organise my breakfast and lunch. Low or no syns if possible as I would like a couple of pimms again tonight :p
  • Hello I'm wondering if I could join in. I've managed to lose 3 and a half stones since January just by myself without joining any clubs but now I'm a bit stuck on losing the last stone. I'm just wondering if joining your thread might just Spur me on. I'm good at cooking my evening meal but I'm a compulsive snacker so I'm trying to keep busy. I always find the morning hard cos that's my hungry time of the day. So far today I've been out and walked for an hour. I've had 3 weetabix with a little semi skimmed milk (prefer coconut milk but run out) and a banana. 3 coffees with sweetner😔😔 and a raspberry muller light.

Welcome Sunnystar. Are you actually following SW or doing something else? You're quite welcome to join us.

If doing SW then so far you have had your HEB and part HEA (depending on how much you've had - you can have 250ml of SS milk). You will also have had 3 syns for the 3rd Weetabix.

Coconut milk is a good choice for HEA as you are allowed 300ml. If you like Almond milk you are allowed loads - think it's something like 800-1000 ml depending on brand.

Speed fruit such as berries would be a better option than banana as that is now only a Free food.

It would be a good idea to read the 1st post of the thread as that explains SW well.

If you'd like to post your menu plans we can help if there is anything which can improve what you're eating.

    Good luck.

Thought I ought to start a new post for my menu plan as the previous post was getting a bit long!

I'm having an unintentional SP day today:

B - mushroom brusetta (was a bit dry so will use some Quark to make a sauce next time - extra protein!) using 2 slices of crustless bread
    L - chicken & bacon salad
D - SW fry up - bacon, egg, mushrooms, beans, tomatoes; slice of bread

HEA will be milk as usual
    HEB1 - 3 slices crustless bread
HEB2 - to be decided; may have some dried fruit or nuts or possibly might pull some rhubarb from the garden and do a rhubarb fool with some quark

    Morning,

It was a STS for me last night. Hopefully get a good loss next week! Not feeling myself with this TOM here, hopefully TOM packs up his little bags and departs over the weekend. Lol

Time of the month - omitted the T and then thought it was quite funny lol, just incase you think I've lost it.............quite possibly have.

Really want a good loss this week, so need to get my finger out.
  • Hi Denise no I've just been using common sense so far... My slimming world so far is making an evening meal but I've done ok so far just need this last stone off. It's the breakfasts and lunches and snacking I get stuck on. I really don't fancy joining a real life group though... That's too much out of my comfort zone. Any help appreciated. I might give the almond milk another whirl.

    Morning all,

weigh in last night and it was a really positive 3lb loss! best loss in about 2 months as I've been losing 0.5-1lb or gaining so I am chuffed.

    Keeping with it;
breakfast: melon and strawberries grazed on over the morning
lunch: spicy butternut squash soup (from a pre prepared packet in asda that was reduced to pennies. looked it up and it's free, not too spicy which is good as I'm a spice wimp) some rhubarb and vanilla fat free yogurt (free) and a passionfruit. lucozade zero to drink
mid afternoon: allowing 5 syns for either flavoured popcorn or a biscuit :)
tea: I'm going to have a microwaved jacket potato and some salad (lettuce, cucumber, tomato, beetroot, pickled onion) and some protein of some description. probably chicken

heb: urban fruit mango - though I keep forgetting my HEs recently
hea: none planned. maybe some cheese later :)

we have bil1's engagement party tomorrow so I am going to flex for that. we aren't staying long though so shouldn't be too bad

sunday we have a stall at weatherby racecourse for the giant carboot/market so less chance to snack. I am going to take plenty of fruit to snack on and a sandwich on a heb thin plus some NAS squash and a can of free pop :)

Wow I miss a couple of days and people are drops loads of weight all over the place! Well done guys! :T:T:T

Don't be too disheartened Emmylou, you're doing really well!

Welcome Sunnystar! You'll get loads of help and encouragement on here. :-)

I was ill Wed and Thurs with a really vile migraine so haven't eaten much the last couple of days. My scales at home say I have lost the 2lbs I put on over my crazy weekend, plus another pound so WI tomorrow should record a 1lb loss. Bit disappointed as 1.5lbs would get me my Club 10 award just in time for my holiday (we leave tomorrow!) but it's my own fault for eating all that chocolate on Sunday!

Morning - didn't have time to post yesterday at all, we were busy from the word go! Bit quieter (so far) this morning, so we'll see how far I get today.... lol.

Sunnystar - welcome to the thread and well done for your weightloss so far, you've done really well. :T

Emmylou - try not to be disheartened, you're doing all the right things so it will have an effect eventually. The body has a strange way of reacting to things in different ways and doesn't always give the instant results we would all like.

I've never had an ice cream maker, but I imagine you can make low fat yogurt ice cream in them using Muller light or other free yogurt.
My shop is a small one. Though a few years ago, I helped out when the largest shop opened and I did 22-24k. As I got customers asking me where a certain product was and it was guaranteed it was the other side of the shop.

I should really get a pedometer or fitness band, I might be surprised at the number of steps I actually do when we're busy. The shop isn't very big and I never think I do much exercise but I'm certainly tired at the end of the day.

Well done Beanie, Scarlet, MrsRyan, NewMe, Rebster and any losers I've missed. :T

It's nearly the weekend again, hope you all have some lovely weather and enjoy it.
