I had a wee drama today. I lost my wedding ring when I was at the supermarket. I developed lymphoedema in my left hand after a mastectomy at Christmas 2009. I had to have my rings cut off, then resized. So my NSV was needing them resized down again, which I hadn't done. I'd started wearing it outside my engagement ring as it is broad and I though there'd be less chance of it coming off than the thin band. Bad logic clearly. It's my 45th anniversary next week. Drove home in floods of tears. DH was great and calmed me down - and found it in one of the shopping bags! Someone was looking after me. But I'm still like a limp rag; DH went out for takeaway (not planned) and we shared a curry - and a naan bread. It's a great feeling having my ring back.

Congratulations, debjay, whatever you decide about your target.

fozzie, I hope you have good news soon re your daughter’s health.

You look lovely, TIE. You’ve captured your smile beautifully!

    That’s a great loss, Rebster.

Well, I’m writing this from the naughty step - I went loopy today. I’m not out tomorrow, so that should help me compensate for today’s lapses.

    See you all tomorrow.

Thank you. Really pleased to have made it as was so close before my holiday.

So, WI on Thursday and I got 2.5 lbs off so half of my holiday gain gone, or more if you take the sneaky-at-home-weigh I did when I got home (showed a 7 lb gain, meaning that I'd lost 2 lbs by the time I got to group on the Thursday).

I'm experimenting with different HEBs. I've so far tried the wholemeal thins (v nice fresh, need to see what they freeze/defrost like before I commit to a packet that didn't have a yellow sticker on it :money: ) and have some ryvita dark rye too. I'm going to try some different nuts too.

16.5 lbs to target. I can get there. I WILL get there.
We may not have it all together, but together we have it all

    Evening all

We've had a busy few days and I've started writing a post several times only to give up trying to finish it! When the site is busy the internet slows down too so that hasn't helped.

Sorry to hear about the people suffering with dental problems, there's nothing worse IMO. The pain is bad enough, the treatment isn't great but the worst part is having to fork out hard earned cash to pay for it.

Denise - sorry to hear the motor home has had to go into the garage, hope it gets sorted very soon. enjoy the hotel in the meantime. :)

Well done Beanie and everyone who has had a loss :T

wizkid - a cornetto is only 7.5 Syns, so it could have been worse, I hope you enjoyed it, don't beat yourself up too much.

Welcome back Mrs Ryan and Scarlet Marble.

lantanna - today I've had to ignore the smell of warm croissants, bacon and pasties, and we're doing fish and chips 3 nights a week so I'm trying my best to switch off my sense of smell!

It's Friday night but DH and I have decided not to have wine Syns. We're expecting to have our busiest day of the season tomorrow, with people leaving in the morning - bacon rolls, souvenirs, drinks and sweets for the journey - then loads of people arriving from lunchtime onwards, so we'll need to be ready for anything. We'll definitely deserve wine tomorrow night. :D

    Have a great weekend everyone.

    Morning all.

Am weighing in at group this morning and taking the kids to the cinema to see Finding Dory afterwards.

Yesterday was my last day at my current job - my work colleagues bought me flowers and M&S Belgian chocolates! Might take the chocolates to the cinema with me and share them with the kids - am not paying Odeon prices for snacks!

Going to have a shower now and hopefully go for a walk round the block to work off my breakfast (bran flakes).

Hope everyone has a good day x

    Of course you can beanie.

I'm conscious of naughties creeping in too.

Since I had my cough virus I've really not fancied any wine syns. I carried on with my usual plan (eating low syn and saving for wine syns at weekend) so that means I've had loads of unused syns! I've noticed in the past week or so I've been eating chocolate most evenings and then a massive piece of cake on Thursday. That's fine until my taste for wine returns. What a dilemma!:rotfl:

Hope you get a result at WI abbafan. Great idea to take the leaving chocolates to the cinema. Very mse :money:, you get to share the syns and being Saturday you've got plenty of time to rein back if you go over for the day.

Enjoy your wine syns when the time comes lois.:)

I've done my meal plan and off to do a food shop in a moment.

    Today's EE plan:
B: NAS grapefruit, HEB Puffed Wheat with HEA milk and strawberries
    L: lentil and veg soup
D: gammon, new potatoes, cauli and broccoli cheese
    Syns: cheese sauce

    Good moaning all :D
WI with just over 1.5lb loss so rounded down :D not quite the gain off but still a loss. Harder to lose when not much needed :( have upped the fluid intake to at least 3 glasses (300ml) of very weak vimto remix (if I eat with it I'm ok). I know that doesn't sound a lot but those that know how much I usually drink ( nothing much ) that is a massive improvement :o
Bought the book the dr recommended to hubby as he's pre diabetic. Dr Michael Mosely's 8 week blood sugar diet, gonna 'try' and help him stick to it :p wish me luck :rotfl:

Have a good weekend all and keep the faith :A
Its not what you do but the way that you do it, thats what get results :T
