No problem at all Credit crunched, we welcome a healthy debate on this bit of the forum :D

I just wanted to put up a different point of view as you said to avoid this way of eating.

I don't always agree with the Slimming World principles.. they do push certain brands more than they should IMO and they aren't necessarily the healthy brands(sweetners etc).. however, overall I think they like to encourage their members to cook from scratch.

I know my weight gain this week comes from stuffing pizza in my face - no calorie counting or slimming world plan would have helped that this week :rotfl: so there are lots of different reasons other than portion control, but yes I agree that this can be an issue.

What's your thesis about? I love a good health study...

Brilliant typo by the way! :rotfl:

Some typo's are un intentionally hilarious!

My Thesis is on the darker side of slimming, I do not like to name due to legal issues.

Just look at anyones face book, and any you will see certain companies that promote a certain approach to selling, think three sided shapes.

They push massive calorie deficit diets for 6 weeks, consuming only minimal liquids, overpriced and dangerous!

In comparison, Slimming world et al, are saint like!

My thesis is on the physical and physiological side of who, how and why people are attracted to these 'diets'.

Thanks for the chart Shala and well done Bettyboof for SOTW :T

I've been reading the posts about dress sizes with interest as despite losing 3 stone I'm still wearing size 22 trousers and jeans. Not the same actual trousers as some of them have got too big to wear, but size 20s are still on the tight side. The only explanation is the ones I was wearing at the start must have been generously sized. The current ones are definitely looser, I need to wear a belt and they were too small for me at the start. And I'm definitely smaller on top, wearing 18s without any problem.

Have a great week everyone, onwards and downwards.

P.s thanks for the Heb info Maman.

    Hey guys,

I'll start posting my daily meals tomorrow. I work shifts so eating at normal times goes out the window which I think will be difficult but I will be sticking to it the best that I can!

    Good luck everyone!
    Xx

    Good morning everyone,

Well done Betty for SOTW, thanks as always Shala for the chart. STS please Shala.
Off to Devon for a couple of days (Hello Lois ). Plan to walk a lot, and hoping the weather stays nice.

Feels strange in the house as both my DS's are away (one in Paris with the scouts, and the other in London).

    Have a good week everyone.

    Morning,

    Form is better today thankfully!

    Thesis sounds very interesting creditcrunched!

Went to Lidl last night and picked up some steamed veg bags, baby carrots, green beans, peas and sweetcorn. Will be handy for little miss single lol Had one last night with some pulled pork and pickles. Stocked up on my cornichons as well. Love a good plod round Lidl but have to be in the mood for it!

Off to the gym tonight for the first time in a long time. I'm sure that will help my mood and motivation levels.

Was up early this morning so made myself a Heb Bacon sandwich for breakfast. Nice to have a nice breakfast at home for a change!

    Hi Shala
I'm getting another cat tattoo. I have a semi-colon on my right wrist (Google semi-colon project if you're interested in why) and a watercolour backed tattoo of a cat on a stack of books just above me right ankle.
I'm going to get a tattoo of a black cat falling down my calf with a watercolour backsplash as well. If I can figure out how to get images on here I'll put up some photos.
That's my only gripe with the forum - I think it's very poor re images/photos

Wow, well at least one of them worked. That is the tattoo that I've actually got. Will try again next week when I get my new one. 8 days to go!
