    Thanks maman and Shala!

Good point about not wasting money on interim clothes. I shall aim to be in a pair of trousers I can get off without opening the zip! :rotfl:

I'm sure I was squeezing myself into a 16! I haven't actually tried on a 14 yet but since my size 16s fit me (albeit a tad bit loose) I'm sure I haven't dropped to a 14. I haven't weighed myself since I stated SW 13 weeks ago, that's a good idea, thanks.

Welcome Liamsmum! My approach to the "unlimited" potatoes, pasta and rice is to think of it as "not needing to weigh and measure" as opposed to all-you-can-eat. So I am perfectly happy (and healthy) having baked potatoes four or five times a week for lunch (I have them with baked beans or coleslaw plus ham and salad) which fills me up much more than a shop-bought sandwich does and stops me snacking in the afternoons.

Re water, SW suggest that you aim to drink between 6-8 glasses of fluid a day, choosing from water, sugar free drinks, tea and coffee (all free but you'd have to syn any sugar you put in tea or coffee as well as the milk if it's not your Healthy Extra A for the day). I am a total water fan though and drink six glasses a day, every day regardless of what else I drink, it's so good for you and keeps skin clear etc.

Bettysboof, it takes me about a stone - stone and a half to drop a dress size

Just fed up with myself today, I'll snap out of it.

Dident know there was a new Vimto flavour.
Really bored with the original one.

Sure it will come right soon TIE.

Chucking it down here again. :(
Morning all...Just quickly checking in and been going through the posts I've missed.

What is the new Vimto flavour called (sorry I must've missed it)?

Has anyone tried the Quorn peppered steaks? I had some on Saturday and they were really nice - they are not cheap though!

WI on Saturday morning and I gained 0.5lb, I was kind of expecting it really as it was star week and was feeling mega bloated.

It was quite an emotionally fuelled group session, one girl got quite upset as her weight does seem to yoyo quite a bit. The consultant is giving her help.

It's going to be an emotional week for me, as it's the last week in my current job and I'm starting my new one on Monday. I am going to stick with similar things for lunch, as I don't know what the facilities are at this new place.

Need to go clothes shopping for my holiday in October next weekend, because if I leave it too late, the Autumn stuff will be in the shops.

Going to the jewellers at lunch time today to pick up a ring I needed mending after I had to have it cut off my finger as it was too tight and cutting off the supply. That was a couple of years ago and now my fingers have shrunk back down. They sized it at a P and a half.

    God I'm sweating already!

If I don't get to post beforehand, have a good week all. :)

RE- vimto - new flavours I've see are raspberry, orange & passionfruit and mango, strawberry & pineapple (i can't have mango though :( son tried it) called vimto remix. Only seen them in sainsbobs so far.
Its not what you do but the way that you do it, thats what get results :T

    Hi guys!

I've recently joined sw! After my first week I had a very disappointing weigh in.. I didn't lose a thing! I was devastated. Couldn't see anything obvious with my food diary and neither could my sw consultant but I think I need to watch my carbs.. Being told I can eat as much pasta/potatoes as I like really isn't a good idea! I never know when to stop!

My second weigh in is tomorrow and I'm hoping for a little loss. I'm trying hard to stick to the plan but feel like I'm making mistakes somewhere along the way that I'm not noticing.

Well I'll just have to wait and see what happens tomorrow!

Thanks for you replies. I will monitor my carb intake and eat till I am satisfied rather than stuffed full. I have followed another eating plan before that was based on calorie counting but I found it difficult to stick to I had to weigh everything and it was time consuming and difficult when making family meals. So far slimming world seems much easier to follow.

Hardly anything needs measuring or weighing on SW liamsmum except HEXs like milk. Glad to hear you're getting the whole family on board. It's so much easier and very healthy for everyone.

It's most unusual not to lose in the first week rj. I think it could be you're taking the free food too far or not having enough Speed food. I suppose it's possible that you've gone wrong counting syns somewhere. Hopefully your consultant can help. If you have time to post your daily menus on here we could check them for you more quickly than waiting for group meetings.

I am newly started slimming world and could do with some advice please. Can I really eat unlimited amounts of rice, pasta etc? It seems too good to be true. Any tips welcome as I am a online member as there are no classes near me and I find there isn't a lot of support on their website. Is it best to stick to mealtimes to eat or can I snack on free foods as much as I like? Also I have read on here about water intake, how much should I be aiming for? Sorry for all the questions but just a little confused. Thanks

Good luck with your weigh-in tomorrow, its is my 2nd one too tomorrow!!

I know from previous attempts that I need to eat moderate amounts of pasta and rice in order to lose weight.

I have been making sure I add loads of free veg to things like spag bol and have found that a really filling sauce means I eat less pasta anyway.

I also try and leave the carby part of a meal to last, so protein and veggies and pasta if I am still hungry.
