  • Hi everyone. Got back from Spain to more hot and humid weather so all the washing done and put away.
Went off to class this morning and was delighted to find out I've lost 1/2Lb very pleased with that and hopefully I'm now back on the downward slope to target.
Weetabix for breakfast, chicken couscous salad for lunch and Sw chips and egg for dinner. My raspberries have gone mad whilst I've been away so I've got about 3kg to munch through over the next couple of days.

Measuring sounds better for you mirry if you get obsessed with the scales. Congratulations on wearing the dress, it's a big step.. and good luck with losing that inch.. I'm off to find the biggest bag I can ;)

    :rotfl:

I only ever weigh at group mirry. I just use how my clothes feel as a guide in between. I sometimes think weekly WI can be depressing as not everyone loses at a regular pace but until you're 100% sure you're following the plan correctly I suppose weighing (or measuring but results may be slower) weekly is better than blissful ignorance. I'm sure weekly is plenty though otherwise you'd notice every (perfectly normal) fluctuation and it would drive you mad.

I made a SC of Bolognese yesterday so need to portion that up. Sausage and mash is on today's meal plan but it's still sunny and baking hot here so maybe a rethink needed. Perhaps a tray bake of some sort?

    Today's EE plan:
B: NAS grapefruit, HEB toast, baked beans
L: choice of cold meat and fried veg or soup
    D: sausage/veg/potato in some combination

    Afternoon all

Thankfully it's much cooler here today, we haven't had any thunderstorms but the wind got up last night and brought the temperature down to a much more comfortable level.

Yesterday's dinner was grilled chicken with ratatouille and couscous, which I thought would be a good meal for a hot day, but by the time it was ready I looked like a lobster. I had every window and door open but the kitchen was like an oven.

I know what you mean about the bangers and mash Maman, some meals just aren't right for a really hot day. I've been trying to put a long range meal plan together for the next 6 weeks, but then I look at the list and wonder if I'll want to have a particular meal on a hot day - bearing in mind our main meals will be at 'lunch' time. So I'm trying to avoid meals that involve the oven. The slow cooker is also out, unless I prepare something the night before and set a timer switch to start it in the early hours.

Welcome back Midge, how was your holiday? I've been hearing about really high temperatures in Spain.

I'm weighing at class tonight then I've got holidays booked for 6 weeks. I'm also going to get a 6 week countdown as there's an offer on at the moment for a free recipe book. That means I'm committed to go back after the holidays and I'm determined to have lost weight by then (or at least stayed the same).

Enjoy the rest of the day.

LOIS, the holiday was great. It was uber hot but breezy and great for walking (as long as you had a hat and loads of sunscreen) we swam every day and walked miles. I did indulge myself with wine and crusty bread but the salads and exercise helped I'm sure. We stayed in La Cala along from Fuengirola and walked all the way to Benalmadena a couple of times. If you know the area then you will know how far that is. Thanks for asking xx

Hi both, yes we do have one - bit quiet recently but I'll get back to posting soon! Louise I've responded to your PM; fozziebear if you PM me with the email address you use for your Facebook account I'll send over an invite :)

Not fairing well in the heat - can't wait for it to cool down a bit!

Breakfast: mint tea - couldn't stomach anything
mid morning: sugar dip so had some foam sweets (5syn) and two chewits (1syn)
lunch: chicken pasta mugshot (1syn) as I left my coolbag in the car and some fruit I have had in the work fridge
tea: going to have a chicken salad (lettuce, cucumber, tomato, beetroot, pickled onion, orange pepper, boiled egg) followed by a passionfruit

weigh day tomorrow and not looking forward to it I seem to be retaining water/bloating in the heat and my tanita scales are showing a gain of almost 2lb. think I'll try and have 3 SP days next week.

    birthday weekend plan:
meal out Saturday, hoping for steak and a jacket potato with salad, will allow myself a small treat in the theatre although I'm planning on taking some bits along in a bag on the back of OH hehe
bbq sunday (asda reduced fat sausages - 0.5 syn for two) chicken and veg kebabs (free) and various free salads (potato salad made with fat free fromage frais, rice with peas and sweetcorn etc) followed by fruit kebabs and potentially birthday cake if I make one
Monday (actual birthday) potential meal out but unlikely. more likely to either have a second bbq/leftovers or cook us something tasty and low syn :)
